The police chief of Phra Nakhon district (Bangkok, Thailand) confirmed that it is illegal for street vendors to sell cannabis and cannabis products, and even tourists could be prosecuted.

The Phra Nakhon district in Bangkok is home to many of Thailand's famous tourist attractions, such as Wat Pho temple and Khao San Road. This area has received even more attention following reports that cannabis has been legalized and is being sold to tourists on Khao San Road.

However, Phra Nakhon District Police Chief Wasan Boonmuenwai affirmed that selling marijuana or marijuana products from street vendors is illegal and will be subject to criminal prosecution. Those who smoke marijuana may also face on-the-spot fines.

Selling cannabis and cannabis products from street vendors is illegal in Thailand, and even tourists can be prosecuted.

According to Wasan Boonmuenwai, police will increase patrols in the Khao San area day and night in the coming period. Previously, four shops on Khao San Street were found to be selling cannabis products.

Ms. Yada Pornpetrampa, representing street vendors in Khao San, stated that legalizing cannabis would be "more harm than good" to the local tourism industry. The image of Khao San as a tourist destination could be negatively impacted by social media stories of tourists suffering from cannabis use, or by the fact that many families would no longer visit Khao San due to concerns about their children being affected by harmful substances.
