Da Nang cancels the 2020 International Fireworks Festival.

Accordingly, after 11 consecutive years of successful organization, the 2020 festival was planned by the city. However, after careful consideration, the Da Nang City People's Committee decided to temporarily suspend this year's festival to limit activities that attract large crowds in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19. In addition, due to the supply of essential materials for the festival being linked to areas affected by the pandemic, the city was also unable to secure a reliable source of supplies.

The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival has been authorized by the Prime Minister to be "organized annually" since 2008, without using state budget funds. The competition has become a brand of Da Nang, attracting many major teams representing China, the USA, Italy, Finland, and other countries.
