Sapa at the end of the year is perhaps the most beautiful time to enjoy the scenery. The weather gradually turns cold. Mountains, villages, and pine forests peek out from behind layers of clouds. Changes in tourism and the times sometimes cause a region rich in Northwest Vietnamese culture to gradually fade away. But at the highest point of this wild land, there is still a resort that preserves the pristine beauty of its culture.
After a relaxing getaway at Ville De Mont Mountain Resort in October, wedding dress designer Lek Chi shared her experience: “My first impression was that the resort, nestled amidst the tranquil Samu forest overlooking a misty valley, was truly a wonderful place to relax. It was completely different from the hotels or resorts commonly found in the center of Sapa. Here, the villas, imbued with the charm of time, blend seamlessly with the mountain landscape, creating a feeling of warmth and peace. The design of the villas in the resort is meticulously crafted, luxurious yet not flashy or gaudy.”
Ville De Mont Mountain Resort is the highest mountain resort in Sapa, situated at an altitude of 1,550 meters above sea level, nestled within a century-old Samu pine forest, and boasting panoramic views of the Muong Hoa Valley. It preserves the long-standing cultural heritage of Sapa through its architecture, services, and dedicated local staff.

Every day, Má A Cả (32 years old), from Má Tra village, Sa Pả commune, usually wakes up at 4 am to prepare and will start working at the pastry shop of Ville De Mont Mountain Resort an hour later. He personally makes various types of pastries, arranges and displays the pastry counter beautifully, and then checks to ensure that each type of pastry is always available to serve tourists.
"Whenever I go to check on the bakery counter and customers praise how delicious the cakes are, I feel very happy, proud of my cakes, and feel like I've done a good job," shared Ms. A Ca, with a touch of pride.
Ly Thi Vang (22 years old), a native H'Mong ethnic minority of Sapa, currently works as a receptionist at Ville De Mont Mountain Resort: “Initially, I tried being a tour guide, but after two weeks, I realized it wasn't suitable because I didn't have the stamina to travel long distances every day, so I became a receptionist. Working at Ville De Mont Mountain Resort, my colleagues are all from ethnic minority groups, so it's easy to interact and work with them, helping me integrate faster.”
Culture doesn't come from flowery words or empty platitudes about preservation. Culture comes from the people, the ethnic minorities who have lived here for hundreds of years. They understand the land from the smallest details, from the flowers, the fish, the rivers, the cliffs... helping visitors learn more about Sapa's identity. Despite this advantage, the management faced considerable challenges in training local staff to provide the refined and attentive service they offer today.
A representative from Ville De Mont Mountain Resort shared: “At Ville De Mont Mountain Resort, we always aim to put the local people at the center of tourism development. 90% of our staff are ethnic minorities who speak Vietnamese with some difficulty, so in addition to training and guidance, we have to teach them hands-on, set an example, and repeat the process many times to help them understand and do things correctly.”

Besides hospitality, enthusiasm, and a willingness to share unique local cultural aspects, each employee at the resort undergoes at least 3 to 6 months of training before officially starting their job. During this time, they are equipped with knowledge in the service and hospitality industry to become employees who provide luxurious, elegant, attentive, and sophisticated service, reflecting the spirit that Ville De Mont Mountain Resort aims to offer each guest during their stay. Upon arrival, guests will easily feel the warmth and hospitality, like welcoming a long-lost friend who has returned from a long journey to this high mountain region for a few days of reminiscing.
With meticulous attention to detail, dedication, and creativity in combining the unique cultural characteristics of the local people with modern, friendly service, Ville De Mont Mountain Resort has created a very distinct mark amidst the mountains of Northwest Vietnam – a resort that not only satisfies guests with its scenery and unique architecture but also connects them with the most pristine aspects of local culture.

Perhaps, tourists who choose Sapa as their destination are those who always seek the cultural beauty of the mountains and forests, wanting to be closer to nature after the hustle and bustle of city life. Standing before the magnificent Ville De Mont Mountain Resort, one is easily moved by the emotions it evokes. A resort that blends contemporary and indigenous Sapa architecture, with its traditional H'Mong tiled houses, nestled in the misty veil, offers guests stunning views of the majestic Muong Hoa Valley, shrouded in clouds, regardless of which villa they choose.
To create a resort with such an impressive appearance and architecture as it is today, it is the dedication of those who wished to create a magnificent masterpiece as a unique landmark while maintaining harmony and integration with the majestic natural landscape of the mountains and forests. Like the Sapa master plan of 2004, with the assistance of a group of French planning experts from the University of Bordeaux, Ville De Mont Mountain Resort is highly regarded for the developers' respect for the beauty of the southern slopes of Ham Rong Mountain, the Muong Hoa Valley, and the Hoang Lien Son mountain range.

During construction, the massive natural white rock formations and centuries-old pine forests were preserved intact. With contemporary architecture crafted from wood and stone, the boutique villas of Ville De Mont Mountain Resort are symbols and the "genetic code" of a land steeped in culture and pristine beauty, both romantic and majestic, renowned from the early 19th century onwards. On a tranquil, cloud-covered afternoon, as you stroll slowly and admire the unique architecture, you'll feel like the protagonist in a fairy tale, falling in love and lost in a magical wonderland, forgetting the passage of time and the worries of everyday life.
While the exterior is grand and impressive, stepping inside will also surprise you with the meticulous attention to detail in each villa. Each villa features a wood-burning fireplace inspired by the traditional stoves of ethnic minority communities. The furniture, including tables, chairs, beds, and wardrobes, is crafted from ash wood and adorned with brocade fabrics, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests, whether visiting or staying. At night, if you can't sleep because you don't want your holiday to end quickly, try putting some potatoes in the fireplace. While waiting, you can brew a pot of tea, relax on the sofa, and read some old books from the shelf, enjoying moments of relaxation you haven't experienced in a long time.
For art lovers, admiring the skillfully crafted paintings made from brocade fabric, tree bark, dried pine cones, or even wood chips reused from construction work by the "artist" is a real treat. Brocade fabric is also used to decorate and embroider hand-woven linen pillowcases, comforting the owner and lulling them into a peaceful sleep after a light, warming evening meal.

When asked about the service style at the resort, designer Lek Chi shared her own thoughts: “The restaurant at Ville De Mont Mountain Resort has a special philosophy of using natural ingredients from Sapa to create incredibly delicious, creative dishes that are both familiar and unique, unlike anything you've ever tasted anywhere else. For me, this is a worthwhile place to visit for a vacation, to enjoy a meal that truly reflects the local culture. My favorite was the seven-course fish meal. The restaurant's space in the valley is both contemporary and incredibly familiar, thanks to the decorations that reflect local culture, and the warm hospitality of each resort staff member makes for a truly special experience.”
At Ville De Mont Mountain Resort, cultural beauty is not only found in the architecture but also in the food, the experiences, and the events held there. Perhaps the most unique experience is the art and culinary program called Tus De Liab Cabaret.

Here, indigenous raw materials, nature, people, landscapes, and water will be uniquely and interestingly recreated through the creativity of artists and artisans. Guests will experience the art of Northwest Vietnam from the simplest things, such as songs sung on the backs of ethnic minority people, the rhythm in the dresses of young women, the flute played by men… while also enjoying dishes prepared by a chef with 20 years of experience, guided by the philosophy of "Nature returns to nature." All elements blend together to stimulate the senses and emotions of the attendees.
Minh Trang, a guest at the event, gave enthusiastic feedback to the organizers: "It's no exaggeration to say that the Tus De Liab Cabaret show is a convergence of special things. I feel very lucky to have arrived at Ville De Mont on the day of the show, and I had a truly unique and visually stunning experience combining art and cuisine. The impressive atmosphere was created by the clear sound of string instruments and the warm scent of wood filling the space."

If you've visited Sapa and Ville De Mont Mountain Resort, you can't miss the traditional herbal bath experience of the Red Dao people. The Red Dao bathwater at the resort is made from fresh medicinal leaves, roots, and stems hand-picked from the forest by the Red Dao people in Ta Phin. With dozens of herbs such as star anise and mulberry, the Red Dao bathwater is bottled in glass bottles and placed in the bathrooms of each villa, ready for guests to bathe, soak, or soak their feet after a day of exploring.

Respecting and preserving local cultural elements, pristine nature, sustainable development, unique architectural design, and world-class experiential services have earned Ville De Mont Mountain Resort a series of prestigious international awards.
