The Hanoi – Abu Dhabi route is operated using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner – a new generation wide-body aircraft renowned for its fuel efficiency and optimized design for long-haul flights. Onboard, passengers can choose between business class with reclining seats, privacy, and premium service, or economy class with spacious seating, adjustable headrests, and a diverse entertainment system.
These amenities, combined with the award-winning in-flight entertainment system, Wi-Fi connectivity, and premium in-flight service, ensure passengers have a comfortable and luxurious flight experience.
Beyond connecting Hanoi with the UAE, the new route also opens up opportunities for travelers to explore Abu Dhabi – the most modern capital in the Middle East, a place where traditional culture and contemporary life intertwine. The city attracts visitors with iconic landmarks such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Yas Island amusement park complex, its turquoise beaches, and upscale seaside resorts. This year, Etihad has also seen significant growth in flight frequency and seating capacity on flights to and from Abu Dhabi, reflecting the growing international demand for travel to this dynamic region.
Etihad Airways' first flight to Hanoi, which landed on November 2, 2025, marked a memorable milestone in the airline's record-breaking year, officially launching its new route to Hanoi.
With six flights per week, the Hanoi – Abu Dhabi route expands travel options for tourists and strengthens connections between Vietnam and the Middle East. Over the past 12 months, Etihad has continuously expanded its network, adding more than 31 new destinations globally, including Chiang Mai, Hong Kong, and now Hanoi. This route not only provides convenient access for Vietnamese passengers to Abu Dhabi but also facilitates connections to other cultural, commercial, and tourist centers in the region and around the world.
Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, shared: "The direct flight from Hanoi to Abu Dhabi marks a new step in Etihad's network expansion. We are delighted to welcome Vietnamese travelers to Abu Dhabi – a dynamic city rich in culture and increasingly attractive to international visitors. This route not only expands travel opportunities but also contributes to promoting trade and cultural connections between the UAE and Southeast Asia. Hanoi is a symbol of Asia's vitality and diversity, and we value the growing connection between these two destinations."
With increasing travel demand and growing interest in Abu Dhabi tourism, the new flight route offers passengers from both countries a convenient option for both business and leisure travel.
With six flights per week, the new route makes it easy for travelers to reach Abu Dhabi for business or leisure. From the UAE capital, passengers can explore iconic landmarks, enjoy beach holidays, and immerse themselves in vibrant year-round events. The route also expands connections to Etihad's global network of destinations, from Europe and the Middle East to North America, while also providing an opportunity for international travelers to discover Vietnam – a captivating land with unique nature, cuisine, and culture.
Beyond meeting passenger travel needs, the new route to Hanoi is also part of Etihad's strategy to expand its cargo network in Southeast Asia. Etihad Cargo – the airline's logistics and cargo unit – has been operating in Vietnam for over 11 years, currently operating five flights per week to Hanoi using Boeing 777 Freighter aircraft. The new route significantly increases cargo capacity in the aircraft's cargo hold, supporting the export of key Vietnamese products such as electronics, textiles, seafood, and agricultural products, while also facilitating the import of high-end goods from the UAE and other markets.

Leveraging Abu Dhabi's advantages as a global logistics hub, Etihad Cargo connects Hanoi with a transportation network spanning Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America, shortening delivery times and enhancing reliability. The new route also contributes to boosting trade and cargo flow between Vietnam and international markets.
