Embracing the "unique" scenic landscapes such as Ganh Da Dia, Bai Mon - Mui Dien, Bai Xep, Vung Ro Bay, Xuan Dai Bay, Song Cau, O Loan Lagoon, Cu Mong Lagoon, Van Hoa plateau, Mui Dai Lanh, Bai Bang, Bai Bau, Bai Nom, Bai Thung, Bai Tu Nham, Mai Nha islet, Ong Xa islet, Nhat Tu Son, Hon Yen, Hon Chua, Hon Nua... are the most beautiful places in the country. Concerned about tourism in his home province, Mr. Nguyen Danh Hanh, Deputy Head of the Monuments Management Board under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen, assessed: Phu Yen still does not have a professional tourism market and proper cultural preservation, there are no investment projects at the right level to retain tourists, accommodation, resort, cultural and culinary services are poor. Exploiting famous scenic spots such as Ganh Da Dia, Mui Dai Lanh... still has too many problems when tourists come to these places, just to look around, take pictures and then leave! Services for tourists at night are almost non-existent.

Regarding the reason why very few people know about Phu Yen, Mr. Nguyen Danh Hanh pointed out that the main reason is the difficult traffic "Phu Yen is located between 2 passes/south of Deo Ca and north of Deo Cu Mong". In addition, Phu Yen is also "stuck" between two strong tourist centers in the region, Nha Trang and Quy Nhon, so it was almost forgotten for a long time during the previous decades.

Economic expert Vo Tri Thanh, economic expert, Director of the Institute for Brand and Competitiveness Strategy Research, assessed that the People's Committee of Phu Yen province has shown its determination to make tourism a spearhead of the economy through continuous investment promotions, promoted activities, removed traffic "bottlenecks", and completed infrastructure. In particular, Tuy Hoa airport has been upgraded and expanded its terminal and increased its passenger capacity to 5 million passengers/year, receiving large aircraft such as Abus, Boeing and charter flights at night, which is a big boost. In addition, the expanded traffic routes that shorten the distance will also help travel agents more conveniently conduct tours to guide customers.

According to the reporter's observation, Phu Yen has planned to develop many resort areas according to the province's tourism development planning, especially in coastal districts and towns; localities with many planned tourist locations such as Tuy An district, Song Cau town in the North, Dong Hoa district in the South and Tuy Hoa city in the center of the province; in addition, in some localities there are scenic spots and favorable natural conditions that can exploit resort tourism and have been planned for general construction such as Van Hoa urban area (in Son Hoa district), O Loan urban area (in Tuy An district), La Hai urban area (in Dong Xuan district)...

According to the former Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Chi Hien, to keep pace with Phu Yen, it is necessary to have large-scale investment projects as the locomotive, to change the management method, have open and attractive policies for investors and implement the policy of socialization for investment and management of scenic spots effectively. Coming to Phu Yen, investors will be given the most favorable conditions to do business and ensure sustainable development in the future, with the motto "The success of investors and enterprises is the success of Phu Yen" - the Vice Chairman of the province further affirmed.

Billion-dollar projects turn "rough gems" into "bright gems"

Having caught the eye of international investors, billion-dollar projects from investors from Dubai, Brunei, South Korea and the US have been approved, proving the attractiveness and the challenge of conquering the "rough gem". However, from the perspective of a resort real estate investor, Mr. Le Dinh Vinh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of EverLand Group, believes that Phu Yen has extremely strong advantages as a new investment area.

“The latecomer also has certain advantages such as having a large enough land fund to invest in large projects, learning from the development experience of previous localities, including developing tourism associated with environmental protection, especially the marine environment, associated with sustainable development, creating a foundation for long-term tourism development in the future” - Mr. Le Dinh Vinh commented.

According to Mr. Le Dinh Vinh, Phu Yen also has a strategic position in trade as it is located at the East-West gateway connecting the South Central Coast with the Central Highlands and is the center of the North-South land, sea and railway routes. Statistics by the end of 2020, Phu Yen attracted 43 resort real estate projects and 43,000 billion VND in total registered investment capital.
