The Tourism Authority of Thailand is introducing a special campaign to attract female tourists, both domestic and international, to new destinations in Thailand through a series of special promotions and numerous opportunities for discounts and offers on products and services suitable for female travelers visiting Thailand solo or in groups.

According to the Director-General of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), there are two reasons why TAT chose August 2016 as Women's Month. The first is to celebrate the 84th birthday of Queen Sirikit. The second is that TAT wants to develop Thailand into a quality holiday destination for female tourists. Female travelers, whether traveling alone or with friends, can find attractive activities that suit their needs and desires when visiting Thailand. Therefore, TAT hopes this campaign will reach female tourists worldwide and give them a new perspective on the tourism products that Thailand has to offer.

Furthermore, another reason TAT chose women as a key customer segment is that, according to a recent survey, women are the ones who decide on family travel plans during holidays. Statistics show that women's incomes globally are increasing, and the number of female tourists visiting Thailand has been growing recently, with an average increase of 11.4% from 2007-2014.

Several studies have shown that female tourists enjoy beach trips, spa treatments, and Thai cuisine, but they are more concerned about safety and privacy compared to male tourists. To address this issue, TAT has partnered with airlines, hotels, resorts, spas, and domestic travel companies to launch extremely attractive activities with numerous special discounts and exclusive benefits for female tourists traveling to Thailand this August.

To promote the aforementioned campaign, TAT introduced five different concepts relevant to women: Beautiful Look, Beautiful Shape, Beautiful Mind, Beautiful Retreat, and Beautiful Experience. All of these concepts were incorporated into the program to design attractive product and service packages tailored to the needs of women traveling to Thailand.

Key activities of this campaign include a women's golf tournament, celebrity guests attending the opening ceremony in Thailand, Thailand seen through the eyes of famous figures from around the world, Thai textile fashion, products specifically for women, and mobile applications about women's travel itineraries to Thailand, etc. TAT designed the following website specifically for the campaign:www.tourismthailand.org/womensjourney

With the aim of widely promoting the campaign to a large number of female tourists in Vietnam, TAT, its representative office in Ho Chi Minh City, along with four airlines (Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, and AirAsia) operating routes between Vietnam and Thailand, are participating in a project to distribute 4,000 lucky draw tickets to female tourists traveling to Thailand from August 1st to 31st, 2016. Each female tourist traveling to Thailand during this period, upon check-in at the counters of the four aforementioned airlines, will receive one lucky draw ticket. Tourists will fill in their personal information and place it in the lucky draw box. After the program concludes, TAT and representatives from the airlines will select two lucky draw tickets to find two winners who will receive a 4-day, 3-night trip for two to Phuket or Chiang Mai, Thailand.
