BMW is not only famous for its long history and reputation, but also for its iconic design and outstanding performance. The strong passion from the BMW community and impressive models such as the X7 have contributed to affirming the brand's solid position in the automotive industry. Travellive had a special interview with Mr. Wong Kah Keen (KK Wong) - Chairman of BMW Clubs Asia, to better understand the factors that make BMW different.

Can you share your first impressions of the BMW brand? What makes BMW different from other luxury car brands on the market?

For me, BMW brings strong energy, excellent performance and a close connection with the driver. When experiencing from BMW 3 Series to 7 Series and even X7, you will always feel the attractive sporty DNA in the spirit of "Sheer Driving Pleasure". The long history and reputation of the brand have made the difference. The iconic design with raised lines and angles makes it easy to identify BMW cars. The heritage in the field of sports car design (motorsport) also highlights this brand. Each car not only brings a perfect driving experience but also shows the owner's personality.

We understand that you are also the President of BMW Clubs Asia. What do you think has helped the BMW brand build and maintain this community?

It is the great passion of the members for BMW. I believe that BMW Car Club is the largest car club in the world with a huge fan community. This comes from the history of the brand and the love of bimmers for BMW cars, which money can not buy.

It is known that BMW X7 is your favorite car model. So, what impressed you most about this SAV?

There are many highlights of the X7 that I want to share. When I first saw and test drove it, I was impressed by the large size and spaciousness of the car. However, the X7 still drives smoothly in true BMW style. It not only has an impressive appearance but also combines strength and stability when driving, with outstanding style when moving.

What are your top 5 things about the BMW X7?

First of all, the BMW X7 has a completely new design, very luxurious and modern. The interior of the car is exquisitely crafted, especially the crystal details, creating an extremely classy and beautiful feeling.

Second, under the hood is a twin-turbo petrol engine combined with the xDrive system, helping the car operate smoothly and flexibly in all conditions.

Third, I especially like the rear-wheel steering system of the X7. This feature helps the car to be stable and well-balanced when turning sharply. The panoramic sunroof is also a highlight that creates an airy space.

Two other features that cannot be ignored are the advanced air suspension system, which helps the car operate smoothly on rough roads. Along with that is the perfect weight distribution that helps the car handle smoothly, creating a great driving feeling.

Can you share one of your memorable experiences driving a BMW? If you had to choose a place to drive a BMW X7, where would you choose?

I remember the first time I drove the legendary BMW M3 at the Sorsbergring in Austria, it was a great experience. And driving the X5 through the Namibian jungle was also an unforgettable memory with the xDrive system. In Vietnam, I like long-distance trips, from the inner city to mountainous areas like Sapa or Ha Giang, which would be ideal places to experience the BMW X7.

Describe the feeling when you drive the BMW X7, is it versatile enough for both city and long trips?

The BMW X7 is truly a perfect car, capable of doing everything. It is powerful enough to accelerate quickly when needed and comfortable enough for the whole family on any trip. Even after more than two hours of travel, the car still feels comfortable, especially when sitting in the back seat with spacious and comfortable space. The xDrive system helps the car handle safely on a variety of terrains, from city streets to rough slopes. When you want to experience challenging terrain such as dirt roads or mud, the car still operates smoothly without any obstacles.
