"Tich Tich Tinh Tang…" is a concert event co-organized by the Goethe-Institut Hanoi with four improvisational artists: Joachim Heintz, Ha Thuy Hang, Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh and Luong Hue Trinh. Three of the artists are from the Vietnam National Academy of Music and are all familiar with this type of music.

Luong Hue Trinh is a multimedia composer and improvisational performer. She graduated with a BA in Jazz Piano from the Vietnam Academy of Music.
Ha Thuy Hang, a multimedia musician and improviser, lives and works in Hanoi. She studied classical music from a young age, then graduated with a degree in Musicology from the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
In music, you may have heard terms likeimprovise(improvisational) orjam(play together) - they both refer to improvisation, also known as improvisation in music. Speaking of improvising music, means that the artist plays the melodies that come to his head at the moment of performance, completely based on personal inspiration.
However, “improvising music does not mean playing music randomly.”
According to the introduction from the program's organizers, “Improvisation requires holding contrasting elements. You need to be still to listen to the different layers of sounds played by other artists at every moment. At the same time, you must be sensitive and masterful of your instrument to react quickly to those sounds while still being delicate enough to decide whether to join in or stay silent. You can play some similar sounds to support your partner(s), but at some point, you also need to oppose them… Accordingly, improvisational music is a combination of experience and skill, of stillness and sensitivity.
Improvisations are the truest expression of the artist's musical personality because time does not allow them to edit the work as they do in the studio. Improvisation is an instant creation, with compositions created in relation to other players or within themselves at the moment of playing. "Improvisation is an exciting journey because neither the artist nor the audience can predict exactly what will happen next."
