Architect Hoang Tuan Long has just launched the "Mandala Universe" art project and called on 379 people to work together to create the work. Once completed, the work is expected to set a Vietnamese and Asian record for the work with the most people creating it.

As the founder and name of the artBoarc- an art form that creates models from bamboo trees, architect Hoang Tuan Long has designed unique boarc artworks that are displayed in many famous museums around the world.

Recently, to continue expressing his passion for bamboo, he launched an art and charity project called "Mandala Universe". The work has Mandala placed in the center, surrounded by 379 words of the Great Compassion Mantra, on the outermost is a circle stylized from lotus petals, meaning that each person is a small universe and is protected by a large universe with the tolerance and compassion of Buddha.

With the desire to spread good values, Hoang Tuan Long called on 379 people to participate (equivalent to 379 words of the Great Compassion Mantra), in which each person will practice one word, as a reminder that every heart has love, compassion and tolerance from within each person.

The idea for the work "Mandala Universe" was nurtured by Hoang Tuan Long since 2021, but due to the impact of the pandemic, it could not be implemented. He also made this work to pay tribute to his mother who passed away during the recent Covid-19 outbreak. "The mother and son once confided that they would do this work when the pandemic subsided, but unfortunately the opportunity for her to do it was no longer available," he said.

In the coming time, he will continue to recreate Vietnam's heritage through bamboo art, to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam to the world.
