According to numerous studies, Bibimbap is a noble dish fit for royalty, originating approximately 200 years ago in Joenju, the capital of Jeolla Province in southwestern South Korea. There, the exceptionally fragrant rice, fresh green vegetables, and superb cooking techniques are the factors that have contributed to its fame.

This is a typical mixed dish served in a stone bowl, consisting of rice, various vegetables, seaweed, eggs, meat, etc. The vegetables usually include cucumber, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms, etc., along with stir-fried beef and fried eggs. The main flavors of this dish come from the fragrant sesame oil and gojujang chili paste.

The way the ingredients are arranged and decorated is also very important. The rice is at the bottom. The finely chopped vegetables are arranged side by side in a harmonious and beautiful way. In the middle is a fried egg or a raw egg yolk.

Bibimbap, a dish often seen in movies from a faraway land, has become familiar to food lovers around the world, especially in Asia, where rice is a staple in daily meals. Its simple preparation, unique and delicious taste, and high nutritional value—providing essential nutrients like protein, vitamins, minerals, organic matter, and healthy fats—have made this dish increasingly popular.
