Make Your Own 6 Lucky Desserts for the New Year

This New Year, make your own lucky desserts from pomegranates, watermelon, and red beans to serve guests at the beginning of the new year.

 

1. Watermelon soda

Ingredients (enough for about 4 - 6 people)

- 1/2 medium watermelon

- 1 lemon

- 50g sugar

- 120 ml water

- 4 cans of soda

Ice cubes

 

2. Coconut cake

Ingredients: for 50 coconut cakes (as small as apples)

- Fresh shredded coconut: 500g dried, crushed

- Egg whites: 100 g (4 large eggs)

- Sugar: 70g

- Salt: 1/3 teaspoon

- Tatar (used to fluff egg whites): 1/4 teaspoon (or 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice).

 

3. Red bean dessert with vermicelli noodles

Ingredient:

- Red bean part: 1 small bowl of red beans, salt, sugar

- For the banh lot dessert: 30g rice flour, 30g tapioca starch, salt, 1 teaspoon of lime, pandan leaf juice, blend to get the juice.

- Coconut milk: 300 ml canned coconut milk, half a teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of white sugar, 2 teaspoons of tapioca starch or cornstarch

- Roasted peanuts, coarsely crushed.

 

4. Pomegranate and lemon juice

Ingredient:

- Pomegranate

- Yellow lemon or green lemon

- Dosage can be adjusted according to your preference.

 

5. Green bean milk

Ingredient:

- 300g peeled green beans

- 1/4 bowl of white sugar (adjust to taste)

- Half a teaspoon of salt

- 1 bunch of pandan leaves

- Fresh milk and ice

- If you want it to be fatter, you can add half a small packet of coconut milk powder (available at supermarkets or at the dry food spice counter at the market).

 

6. Green tea chiffon

Ingredients: for a 20 cm center mold and 2 small 5 cm chiffon cups

 

* Egg yolk mixture:

- Egg yolks: 6 eggs

- Fresh milk: 100 ml

- Green tea powder: 20g

- Vanilla: 5 ml

- Salt: 1 teaspoon

- Cornstarch: 75g

- Wheat flour: 75 g

 

* Egg white mixture:

- Egg whites: 6 eggs

- Sugar: 110g

- Tartar: 1 teaspoon

 

* Green tea ice cream:

- Fresh cream: 200g

- Green tea powder: 10g mixed with 10ml of warm water to cool

- Salt: 2g

- Sugar: 20g
