Yule log cake is said to have originated in France and is called Bûche de Noël. According to tradition, on Christmas Eve, Westerners often go into the forest to cut a large log and bring it home to make a wine offering. The log is placed on the fireplace, sprinkled with oil, salt, hot wine and everyone prays.

Legend has it that the Yule Log cake was created around 1875, when a French baker had the idea of making a Yule Log-shaped cake for Christmas Eve instead of a real log.

Yule logs are made by rolling sponge cake into a cylinder, covering it with chocolate, and tracing it with a fork to resemble tree bark. Yule logs are becoming more and more creative, with more fruits, shapes, and colors, and are an indispensable dish during Christmas.
