New solution: Turning wild forests into working "offices"

29/09/2021

Research from Lenovo shows that our productivity will increase by 45% after less than 30 minutes of working outdoors. Based on this reality, a new working solution during the pandemic was born in Colorado (USA), where people can turn deep forests into "offices" to work, and occasionally take breaks to go... fishing, boating.

The Covid-19 pandemic has posed a huge challenge to people's lives, but it has also created an opportunity for many creative and unique ideas to arise. All over the world, new office models are becoming more and more popular, creating suitable and effective working spaces for those who cannot go to the office during the pandemic.

Inspired by WeWork - a flexible office model that has become more popular since implementing safe working solutions during the Covid-19 pandemic, the famous beer company Busch Light (part of Anheuser-Busch) has created a completely new experience called TreeWork - turning a deserted place deep in the wild Colorado forest into a suitable place to work and relax.

A study by Lenovo found that productivity increased by 45% after just 29 minutes of working outdoors. TreeWork will not only increase efficiency but also seek to help relieve some of the stress and fatigue associated with the pandemic, which has disrupted the daily lives of Americans for more than 18 months.

When TreeWork was introduced to the public, the company said: “In addition to the picturesque setting of the Colorado wilderness, TreeWork amenities include a beautiful and airy office space, strong Wi-Fi, a fun time, including campfires and barbecues on site. Guests who want to stay outdoors longer than 9am to 5pm can purchase blue starlights for their tents to enjoy the beautiful night sky of the United States.”

Not stopping there, the experiences at TreeWork will be more than you imagine, when you can spend some of your time fishing, kayaking, as well as trying to walk on the trails inside the forest. For more relaxation, you can choose an Adirondack chair and lie down under the trees.

If the weather is too harsh, there is also a house with a good ventilation system where people can work, in case of rainy or heavy snow days.

A maximum of 14 guests will be confirmed per day from the opening of bookings on September 22, and guests can register alone or with one companion. Accommodations will allow visitors to stay for one to two days, with accommodation expected to open between October 4 and October 8. Those who choose to camp overnight will receive free food and drinks, but the number of people will be limited.

Busch Light believes their beer is the ultimate outdoor beer and is the perfect choice to enhance the experience of guests working in the TreeWork space.

“Because beer is brewed for fun outdoor activities, we knew we had an opportunity to create a co-working space that leverages the beauty of our natural surroundings to help alleviate some of the stress and fatigue that affects everyone,” Daniel Blake, Vice President of Budweiser & Value at Anheuser-Busch, said in an interview. “Whether you’re just looking to get out of the house, away from the office, or even just looking for a spot outdoors, TreeWork is the optimal space to give you the refreshment you deserve.”

TreeWork is not the first model to create outdoor workspaces. Previously, the US state of Florida also set up safe outdoor work areas to help people relieve stress and connect with each other during the pandemic. Models like TreeWork are not only creative ideas but also bring significant efficiency, with the hope of making people more inspired and motivated to work, when a life without Covid-19 is still just an unanswered question.
