In Japanese cuisine, mushrooms are considered quintessential foods. Among them, Matsutake mushrooms, also known as Pine mushrooms, are considered to meet the gold standard for their aroma and delicious nutritional taste. The mushrooms are white or light brown in color, have short and thick stems, smooth surfaces, and their flavor cannot be confused with any other type of mushroom.

This October, Japanese restaurant Yoshino introduces to diners the "Autumn Menu" with the famous Matsutake Mushroom and Sanma Fish (also known as Saury), a typical fish of Japan with a delicious and nutritious taste.

Matsutake mushrooms and Sanma fish are considered precious and nutritious foods in Japan because they are only available once a year in the fall.
