With over 70 years of experience, IHG has established itself as a leader in the hospitality industry, a brand whose professionalism and standards are always the benchmark for excellence.

Recently, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) officially announced the completion of its acquisition of a 51% stake in Regent Hotels & Resorts. Following this transaction, Regent Hotels and Resorts will become the most upscale brand in IHG's portfolio of hotel brands, which currently includes InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton® Hotels & Restaurants, Hotel Indigo®, EVEN® Hotels, HUALUXE® Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza® Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn®, Holiday Inn Express®, Holiday Inn Club Vacations®, Holiday Inn Resort®, avid™ hotels, Staybridge Suites®, and Candlewood Suites®. Accordingly, IHG aims to focus on expansion, rapidly increasing the number of Regent hotels from 6 (2,000 rooms) to 40 (10,000 rooms) in the future.

Undeniably, this is a historic deal with the potential to change the landscape of the luxury resort industry. It provides IHG with a powerful competitive weapon in the luxury hotel segment, allowing the group to confidently take the lead and compete with other prominent brands such as The Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis of Marriott International, Hilton's Waldorf Astoria, Park Hyatt, and Four Seasons. This is also a strategic move by IHG to increase its presence in the luxury segment, which is valued at $60 billion worldwide.
Meanwhile, Regent was founded in 1970 by hotel legend Robert H. Burns – Founder, CEO, and Chairman of Regent International Hotels from 1970 to 1992. A quote by Robert H. Burns remains the philosophy and foundation of the brand from its early days: “The cornerstone of our reputation is luxury, and the only common thread among Regent hotels worldwide is uniqueness.” This philosophy embodies a harmonious blend of opposites: simplicity yet elegance, modernity yet timelessness, global appeal yet deeply rooted in local essence. Throughout its nearly 50-year history, Regent has leveraged local elements alongside unique standards for each hotel, avoiding the conventional norms prevalent in the hotel industry, thus making each Regent hotel a refined masterpiece.
It's no exaggeration to say that Regent is a name synonymous with unique experiences. It's no coincidence that many influential figures such as the King of Pop Michael Jackson, legendary singers Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Whitney Houston, Elton John, Tom Cruise, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé have chosen Regent Hotels & Resorts for their vacations.
Keith Barr, CEO of IHG, affirmed that Regent is a fantastic addition to IHG's brand portfolio. We see a real opportunity to unlock Regent's enormous potential and accelerate its growth globally.

Steven Pan, Chairman of Formosa International Hotels Corporation, shared that IHG and our Group share a common brand vision, and IHG has the ability to turn our ambitions into reality. IHG has a deep understanding of how to maintain and protect the core values that make Regent a unique and special brand, while also ensuring that Regent can grow and thrive globally.

In Vietnam, in 2017, Regent reached an agreement to become the management operator of the luxury resort Regent Residences Phu Quoc, invested in by the reputable real estate developer – BIM Group. Regent Residences Phu Quoc was positioned to be one of the first 6-star hotel complexes on Vietnam's leading tourist island. With this acquisition, Regent Residences Phu Quoc will become a classic product, the first child bearing the Regent name under IHG's management. This is also the third project continuing the strategic partnership between BIM Group and IHG. Previously, two projects invested in and developed by BIM Group and managed by IHG were Crowne Plaza Vientiane (which opened in April 2017) and InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort (currently in the final stages of completion and preparing for opening). According to observers, this is a powerful leverage that makes BIM Group's project a "one-of-a-kind" product in the current market. From this, IHG once again affirms its position, continuing to write the next chapter of the ultra-luxury resort industry.
Located in the heart of Bai Truong Beach, Regent Residences Phu Quoc is the third component of the Phu Quoc Marina tourism complex, situated right next to the InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort. The project's development demonstrates the imminent future of a world-class tourism complex, bringing together leading resort brands, offering luxurious accommodations, and complemented by sophisticated relaxation, entertainment, and culinary services.
Regent Residences Phu Quoc is built on a total area of 15 hectares with only 76 villas and 42 sky villas, 120 hotel rooms, and many luxury amenities such as a rooftop bar, sky bar, gym, Michelin Star-rated restaurant, beach club, spa... Designed in the colors of Vietnamese architecture with a large waterfront area, creating a relaxing atmosphere, the villas of the project are not only diverse in type but also offer a spacious and unique resort space, making them a target for wealthy investors.
