On December 8th, Zippo Global and Zippo Vietnam held various activities to mark the 85th anniversary of their founding in the US and the 19th anniversary of their official presence in Vietnam. The event was attended by representatives from Zippo USA and Vietnam, along with hundreds of collectors and enthusiasts of this lighter brand.

As part of its celebratory activities, the legendary lighter brand held a press conference for the "Zippo Hot Tour Hanoi - Vietnam" and a customer appreciation party, launching a line of Zippo eyeglasses for men and women, as well as honoring the special "Zippo Trench Art 2017" lighter collection, handcrafted by Vietnamese sculptors.

The power of a "flame that never goes out" for 85 years.

Each Zippo lighter has its own story, engraved with a landmark, a cultural event, a historical milestone, or a meaningful message. Therefore, throughout its 85 years of existence, Zippo has never been simply considered a lighter. The product represents a spirit, a unique lifestyle. The durability and strength of the flame, of every detail of the product, symbolizes the resilience and strength of its owner. And the image of Zippo is not limited to the hands of users, collectors, and enthusiasts; it has also entered film, music, and theater. A Zippo flame can burn even against the wind, in storms, or in the harshest weather conditions. The Zippo flame produces colorless smoke and has a mild odor. Because a special type of fuel is used specifically for this type of lighter, and no harmful chemical solvents are used, the flame, though intense, is not destructive. The user, those around them, and the lighter's components are all safe.

Zippo lighters are particularly highly personalized. The sound of each lighter opening is unique; no two are alike. This is because it depends on the user's habits and the conditions under which the lighter is used. Therefore, owning just one Zippo is never enough for a true enthusiast of this brand.

Zippo Vietnam was established in 1999 to exclusively distribute Zippo lighters to the three markets of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. This establishment made the brand more accessible to enthusiasts. From there, the Zippo movement in Vietnam also gained strong momentum. This movement can be divided into three "levels." Level 1 includes those who buy the product for personal use. Level 2 includes those who perform "fire tricks" with Zippo lighters, showcasing their skills. Level 3 consists of collectors. In Vietnam, some collectors have owned hundreds, even thousands, of rare Zippo lighters. Meetings and exchanges are held enthusiastically throughout the country.

Zippo Hot Tour Hanoi - Vietnam is an event celebrating Zippo's 85th anniversary. Held at the Army Hotel, 1A Nguyen Tri Phuong Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, the event brought together Zippo enthusiasts from across the country. The event featured representatives from Zippo Vietnam, as well as Zippo USA.

The event consisted of two main parts: a press conference and a customer appreciation party. Through these two activities, the brand aimed to build consistent relationships and brand awareness for Zippo, as well as spread the lifestyle and spirit that the brand is pursuing.

However, in some markets with a strong Zippo following, the parent company in the US will grant permission to decorate and design the exterior of the product. These products will be produced in limited quantities and distributed exclusively within that country. Since its inception, only a few countries have been granted this right, including Zippo Japan, Zippo Germany, Zippo South Korea, and others.

Recently, the parent company granted permission to decorate and design the surface of a limited edition product line for the Vietnamese market. This line is called “Zippo Trench Art 2017 – Zippo – Trench Art”. The products are entirely hand-engraved by skilled artisans. These Zippos feature images and memories of wars throughout the nation's history. They carry the stories and recollections of soldiers who fought in those wars.

The Zippo Trench Art 2017 collection will be included in the company's official catalog as soon as possible.
