Early in the morning of December 6, 2025, at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, a distinctive cultural space of the pedestrian street, a mass wedding ceremony titled "A Day of Togetherness - Love is Happiness" took place. This was not just a wedding, but a brilliant and highly symbolic highlight within the framework of the Vietnam Happy Fest 2025. The large-scale event, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in close coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, Vietnam Television, and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, attracted considerable attention from the public, tourists, and international media.
At the heart of the ceremony were 80 couples, ranging from young people embarking on their journey to build a family to elderly couples, walking hand in hand in radiant wedding attire. The number 80 couples is not only impressive but also carries a sacred and profound historical significance: it symbolizes the proud 80-year journey of the nation since achieving Independence, Freedom, and Happiness.
This morning (December 6, 2025), Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square erupted with emotion. The mass wedding ceremony "The Day of Togetherness - Love is Happiness" was not just an event; it was a place where the love between couples beat in unison with love for the country.
Each couple is a "cell" of society, and this event strongly affirms that personal happiness and family happiness are the most solid foundations for national happiness. The event transcended the boundaries of a simple wedding ceremony, becoming a powerful humanistic message spreading throughout the cultural space of Ho Guom Lake.
The 80 couples appearing today carry a sacred message: a symbol of the nation's 80-year journey of independence, freedom, and happiness.
The most unique and humane aspect of this year's mass wedding ceremony is the expansion of the participants. Unlike typical mass weddings that focus on young couples, "Our Wedding Day – Love is Happiness" is also a solemn celebration for those whose love has withstood the test of time.
The presence of couples who have been together for 15 years (silver), 30 years (gold), and especially 50 years (diamond) created a vibrant tapestry of Vietnamese love. They are the "witnesses" to tolerance, sharing, and unspoken understanding in marriage. These older couples exchanged affectionate glances, sparkling as they did in the beginning, a testament to the enduring strength of their vows from years past.
The presence of many couples of different ages and backgrounds adds to the significance of this event.
The organizers showed thoughtful consideration by presenting meaningful wedding gifts, from attire and flowers to heartfelt blessings, to encourage and spread these beautiful love stories. This act is not only material support but also a recognition and honor of the fine traditional values of Vietnamese families in a modern context where equality, companionship, and mutual respect are highly valued.
The ceremony reached its peak of emotion and exhilaration at its climax. Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the celebration, under the enthusiastic guidance and connection of MC Quyền Linh, 80 couples shared sweet kisses, concluding with a resounding, resounding shout: "Happy Vietnam!" This sound was not only a blessing for their marriage but also a powerful declaration of aspiration and belief in a nation constantly striving forward on a foundation of unity and love.
The moment 80 couples walked hand in hand, witnessed by family, friends, and thousands of onlookers, created a rare and moving scene. The tight embrace of the young people, blended with the sparkling, grateful eyes of couples who had shared half their lives, created a warm and sacred energy. Tears of emotion mixed with radiant smiles affirmed an eternal message: Happiness is not a distant destination, but lies in unconditional companionship, in a firm handhold during difficult times, and in a forgiving smile in old age.
A mass wedding ceremony is an occasion to honor couples who have held hands and overcome difficulties and challenges to find happiness and become husband and wife.

The success of the wedding ceremony paved the way for a series of other events within the framework of the Happy Vietnam 2025 Festival. Highlights included the "Hundred Flowers Walking Parade" in traditional Vietnamese attire, with the participation of approximately 800 people, setting a record for the number of attendees; the "Happy Vietnam" exhibition telling stories of life through light; and the "Happy Vietnam 2025" media awards honoring inspiring works. All these activities aimed at a common goal: to deeply engrave the image of a happy, united, and loving Vietnam in the hearts of its people and international friends.
