With a developed life and friendly people, Thailand is a country that can be considered safe for you to choose to travel independently... To travel somewhere, first of all, you should learn about the culture, customs and scenic spots that you will need to visit. You can find this information online. I only share the "tips" to keep in mind to make your trip easier.

1. Airline tickets

You can choose tickets from airlines such as Vietnamairline, Thai airway, Jestar,... however, if you want to save money on tickets, you can buy from Air Asia or Vietjetair, because the ticket prices of these two airlines are cheaper than other airlines, especially during the sale season, they are even cheaper.

Usually, cheap tickets to Thailand are around 2 - 3 million VND/round trip. If you are lucky, you can hunt for cheap prices that are only half the normal price including tax. If you book online, it is cheaper than going to an agent by a few hundred thousand, but you must have a card combined with the internet or a visa card... Besides, you will be charged a fee to pay by card, paying by visa is more expensive than by a normal bank card. While booking tickets, you do not need to tick the seat selection or buy insurance unless you have an elderly person or a child with you, then it is necessary.

Remember to check carefully to choose the right luggage, if there is nothing bulky, you can choose to buy luggage for the return trip to save costs. You are allowed to carry 7kg of luggage. Low-cost airlines often do not serve snacks on the plane, so when booking tickets, you should consider buying food or not because on the plane you can only pay in dollars or Thai currency, food prices may be higher.

Airports in Bangkok have 2 airports: Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi.

Don Mueang is the domestic airport and AirAsia operates international flights to reduce the load on Suvarnabhumi. If you buy an AirAsia ticket, the destination is Don Mueang airport.

Suvarnabhumi is the international airport of the remaining airlines. From Suvarnabhumi to the center of Bangkok, traveling by Airport Rail Link (SARL City Line) is more convenient than Don Mueang. Vietjetair will arrive at this airport.

2. Hotel

You can choose online websites such as booking.com or hotel2thailand.com to find a suitable hotel. You can choose according to the price you want and also easily view the map of nearby attractions and malls. On these sites, hotel prices are half as cheap as booking on the spot,... On average, hotels around 800 - 1.5 million VND are spacious, safe and have a free breakfast buffet. You should choose a hotel near BTS (skytrain) or MRT (subway) for convenience because Thailand often has traffic jams,... Booking a hotel online is also via bank card.

3. Luggage

When traveling far away, especially abroad, you may be very excited and eager to bring many beautiful clothes to wear and take pictures. But in reality, you do not use all of them. So, you only need to bring clothes that are light, easy to fold and do not wrinkle...

If you check in your luggage, you can bring as much as you want, but I still recommend that you bring just enough to carry it easily, and that you will definitely have some shopping during your trip, so you won't have to worry about not having enough clothes to wear (especially for girls). Thailand has many temples, so remember to bring long pants or a dress that goes past your ankles. You should bring a pair of sandals for short walks and sneakers for long days of hiking.

Girls should limit wearing high heels because the trip will be mostly walking, so you can replace it with a pair of doll shoes or sandals. Remember to bring a hat, sunglasses, jacket and mask, socks because the weather in Thailand is often sunny and hot,... And if you go in the rainy season, remember to bring an umbrella.

As for personal hygiene products, you can bring them or not, because 24/7 stores in Thailand sell small sets of products for short-term use and are also cheap. However, if you are careful, you should bring them because there are hotels that do not provide toothbrushes and toothpaste, except for 5-star hotels.

Here are some things you should bring on your trip:

- Personal items: toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shampoo, shower gel, facial cleanser, mouthwash, cosmetics, travel iron, makeup remover, sanitary napkins, needle and thread, tissues, nail clippers, perfume (should bring 5ml), sunscreen

For men, luggage will be much lighter, just a few sets of clothes, money and necessary documents and that's it... If you carry your luggage by hand, you should pack it in a 7kg backpack, and bring a small shoulder bag to hold important documents and money.

The important part is related to that small bag and you should keep it carefully: Personal documents; passport, plane ticket, hotel reservation, hotel address (give it to the driver because if you say the name, they may not understand and know the location), embassy address (in case of problems, theft,...).

- Money: you should exchange Vietnamese Dong to dollars and then bring the dollars to Thailand to exchange for baht. There are very few Thai banks that accept Vietnamese Dong, and if they do, you will lose money.

- Visa/Mastercard

Do not keep money and documents together.

In addition, you cannot forget to bring a camera, phone, charger and a small notebook with a list of important addresses, places to go and emergency phone numbers in case your phone runs out of battery or is lost.

- Self-defense medicine: Digestive medicine, stomachache medicine, cold medicine, sore throat medicine, fever reducer, cough medicine, insect repellent cream to apply after insect bites/stings, anti-allergy skin cream, vitamins, anti-motion sickness medicine, oil, prescription medicine for people undergoing medical treatment

Here are all the things you should remember and prepare to start a trip to explore Thailand.
