“Marry me, let’s travel the world together”, is the proposal and considered an important milestone of Trinh Nam Thai for his life partner Pham Bich Ngoc. To fulfill the promise, he and his wife “traveled slowly”, thoroughly exploring 30 countries and dream of traveling the whole world in the future.

“I started my passion for travel with a trip across Vietnam in 2017, passing through 63 provinces and cities, admiring the beauty of every corner of the country. Then, I officially went abroad for the first time to Thailand. In the blink of an eye, we had visited 30 countries!”, Trinh Nam Thai said.

Belonging to the early 9x generation, the first trips started 6 years ago, when Trinh Nam Thai proposed to his wife Pham Bich Ngoc, he promised to "travel the world with her". Currently, he and his wife are on a road trip around the world to fulfill that promise. Up to this point, they have set foot in 30 countries.

Sharing about the inspiration to explore many places, Trinh Nam Thai said: “The world is so vast, since I was a child I loved watching world programs. Growing up, social networks developed, beautiful pictures of nature around the world made me crave to see it with my own eyes, touch strange flowers with my own hands or climb exciting cliffs in my imagination. Those are the main factors that led to the decision to travel and we have quite similar interests.”

Trinh Nam Thai is currently working in IT, Pham Bich Ngoc is an interpreter, and both of them work in the business field. Therefore, arranging flexible time is not too difficult. "My husband and I are together pursuing our dream of traveling the world, a long-term plan but there is no pressure to never finish it," Trinh Nam Thai said.

The balance between work and travel has brought Bich Ngoc and Nam Thai many memorable experiences. They combine work and travel, spending 6 to 10 hours a day traveling.

With the view that when setting foot in any country, one must thoroughly explore it from beginning to end, Trinh Nam Thai always finds many interesting, unique and even the most ordinary things in each trip.

“Both my husband and I are the type of people who ‘go slowly’. We go from beginning to end of any country we visit, choosing the most ideal season to go, so we see beauty everywhere. Each trip to a country or region has its own unique features, but if I had to choose, I would like San Marino. This is a small country located in Italy, with great national pride and dignity that has allowed them to protect their small territory and still be very prosperous to this day,” Trinh Nam Thai said.

During his trips to 30 countries, Trinh Nam Thai was most impressed with his trips to Italy and France.

“We came to France during the Cannes Film Festival and saw with our own eyes famous stars walking the red carpet such as: Johnny Depp, Pham Bang Bang and many other famous people.”

More memorably, during a trip to the island of Ischia, Italy, while filming on the top of a mountain, the drone lost signal and then fell into the dense forest on the highest mountain peak. The next day, he searched for hours but still could not find it. When he left for 2 weeks, the hotel where he stayed called to inform that someone had picked it up and asked for his address to return it to his home.

The most important things that Trinh Nam Thai emphasized through the trips are: physical strength, time and the limits of one's own understanding.

According to him, traveling a lot requires a lot of physical strength. Young people want to explore many things, are curious about everything, want to learn about it to make the trip more interesting. Understanding - traveling for a long time means you will not have enough time to learn everything before the trip. That also makes him and his wife sometimes encounter areas that do not have much information, so sometimes they blindly choose randomly. Fortunately, because of previous experience, the choice becomes luckier, so every journey is memorable.

When asked about his plans for the upcoming trip, Trinh Nam Thai said: “For us, travel is life and life is travel, so we will always go and prepare for the next trip. Because we just completed a 3-month trip, I will probably rest for a while. Then, when Northern Europe enters autumn, we will probably go to Norway for about a month to see the yellow leaves. I heard that autumn there is very beautiful.”

Seeing the vast world, experiencing different cultures, learning new things in life or feeling the change in climate of each land is what my husband and I get the most from each trip. More importantly, feeling our hearts full, living slowly and happier every day.

“Every person is born with a unique DNA code, so they will be happy in their own way. No matter who you are or what you are doing, find what really makes you happy. If you have a dream, start making it come true, even if it is the smallest thing! Because just having a dream is already a wonderful thing,” Trinh Nam Thai sent to readers who are passionate about traveling.
