The Vietnamese market in HKTB's promotional strategy.
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has shared the latest updates on the tourism situation in Hong Kong. According to data from HKTB, from January to July 2025, Hong Kong welcomed over 39,000 Vietnamese visitors, a 46.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Last year, the total number of Vietnamese visitors to Hong Kong reached 48,000 out of a total of 45 million international visitors.
Ms. Liew Chian Jia stated that Vietnam is becoming one of Hong Kong's key markets in Southeast Asia. HKTB aims to welcome 49 million international visitors in 2025. On average, Vietnamese visitors stay for 3.5 days and spend approximately HK$6,400 (equivalent to VND 21.7 million).
Vietnamese tourists visiting Hong Kong tend to have a moderately long stay and high spending level.
To penetrate the Vietnamese market, HKTB implements seasonal campaigns, combining promotions with artists and KOLs, as well as applying promotional programs such as vouchers and discount coupons. These activities are expected to maintain a stable customer base throughout the year.
Actor Vo Tan Phat said that the filming trip to Hong Kong gave him a special experience, "especially being able to see firsthand the locations that appeared in TVB dramas that were a part of my childhood." He also mentioned Hong Kong cuisine as a highlight not to be missed.

Ocean Park continues to expand its experience combining entertainment and nature exploration, including the twin pandas Jia Jia and De De, who just turned one year old.
In addition, the Kai Tak Sports Complex, scheduled to open in April 2025, will become Hong Kong's largest sports and entertainment complex, featuring a 50,000-seat stadium and numerous accompanying facilities. It will also host numerous music events, including concerts by SEVENTEEN (September), TWICE (December), and Blackpink in early 2026.
Hong Kong also maintains its image as a cultural and festival destination in Asia. Notable events throughout the year include the Food & Wine Festival, Hong Kong Winterfest, the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, and the Kowloon Walled City film set exhibition.

MICE tourism potential
Alongside leisure tourism, Hong Kong continues to develop MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions) tourism, leveraging its numerous internationally-standard convention centers, convenient transportation links, and diverse entertainment and cultural services.
HKTB introduces the “Hong Kong Incentive Playbook,” a guide suggesting over 100 activities across themes such as art, culture, health, and nature. This document aims to help MICE groups combine business and travel experiences in a single trip.
