Following its resounding success in Europe and the United States, the Van Gogh Multi-Sensory Interactive Art Exhibition will officially launch to Southeast Asian audiences this year at B1 Forum - Resort World Sentosa (Singapore). This eye-catching and highly anticipated 360-degree panoramic art space is organized by H&B in collaboration with Exhibition Hub, Fever and Resort World Sentosa (RWS).
Van Gogh Immersive Experience exhibition comes to Southeast Asia for the first time at Resort World Sentosa Singapore
Since its conception in 2016, the Van Gogh Multi-Sensory Interactive Exhibition, organized by renowned entertainment production unit Exhibition Hub and Fever - the leading discovery entertainment platform today, was immediately rated as the number one interactive art experience (voted by USA Today readers) and has had a resoundingly successful tour through many cities across Europe and the United States. Collaborating with Exhibition Hub and Fever on this exclusive Van Gogh Experience, there is also the collaboration of H&B - the new generation interactive experience unit that brought the installation exhibition “Dale Chihuly: Glass in Bloom” to Singapore during the peak of COVID-19, and RWS Luxury Resort - Lifestyle Complex.
“One of H&B’s aspirations is to share the beauty of art in its various forms in Singapore, from sculptures to paintings to immersive digital experiences. We are delighted to host and launch this unique Van Gogh Interactive Multi-Sensory Experience in Singapore’s premium Southeast Asian lifestyle destination in collaboration with Resorts World Sentosa, Exhibition Hub and Fever,” said Michael Lee, Managing Director, H&B.
Unique perspectives into the world of Van Gogh's art are also promised to be exclusive to visitors to the Van Gogh Singapore exhibition.
This panoramic art experience is arranged in independent exhibition spaces with a total area of over 1,500 m2. Entering each exhibition area, visitors will be immersed in more than 300 manuscripts, sketches and paintings by Vincent Van Gogh, and blend into the colorful and emotional world of the talented artist as well as his lifetime works through large-scale digital projections that cover the entire space, stretching from the large floor to the high ceilings and large walls. One of the most notable points of the exhibition is the central projection area, where the digital works are created with an expansive installation effect, opening up a fascinating visual space. Here, visitors can freely admire or sit quietly and enjoy the feeling of being part of the magical painting world of one of the Netherlands' most influential and beloved artists.
The Van Gogh Singapore exhibition is also proud to be the first exhibition to launch two unique experiences in parallel, including an area displaying works of Japanese woodblock art through traditional stamp engravings and prints. This ancient Japanese art form, which was popular in France in the 1880s, also marked a remarkable cultural exchange when Eastern art was introduced and strongly influenced contemporary Western art. Developing a deep interest in this wave, Van Gogh found in the Japanese school (Japonisme) a rich source of inspiration and a strong influence on his personal artistic style. This was also the origin of his later Eastern-inspired masterpieces such as 'Geisha'.
In addition, a virtual reality (VR) experience offering unique perspectives into the world of Van Gogh’s art is also promised as an exclusive privilege for visitors to the Van Gogh Singapore exhibition. The ten-minute multi-sensory VR technology allows participants to explore the unforgettable journey of “A Day in the Life of an Artist” - where the inspiration behind some of Van Gogh’s most beloved works is revealed, including Vincent’s Bedroom at Arles and Starry Night Over The Rhone River.
This panoramic art experience is arranged in independent exhibition spaces with a total area of over 1,500 m2.
“We strive to create an empathetic interaction between the artist, the artwork, and the audience. This way, visitors can feel immersed in Van Gogh’s art as soon as they enter the exhibition, and keep that feeling intact after they leave. With carefully calculated spatial arrangements, this new interactive art experience will contribute to liberating art and painting lovers on a deeper journey of discovery about our genius artist,” said Mario Iacampo, CEO and Creative Director of Exhibition Hub.
In the free drawing studio area - operating in parallel with the art experience area, visitors will be able to try their hand at being an artist and create their own unique works, or recreate a painting that has been displayed in the exhibition. Not only enjoying the feeling of pure artistic creation, attending the creation session, visitors can also recreate this work into an art display or a backdrop for souvenir photos through the digital scanning application from the Organizing Committee.
