Recently, Guinness World Records honored Serendipity 3 restaurant (New York, USA) for making the world's most expensive plate of french fries, priced at $200 (4.5 million VND) per serving.
The special dish called Crème de la Crème Pommes Frites is made from Chipperbec potatoes. After being prepared, the potatoes are rinsed with vinegar and Champagne, then fried twice in goose fat to achieve a crispy exterior while remaining soft and fluffy inside.

The truffle ingredient elevates the dish to its highest value. The potatoes are tossed with truffle salt, drizzled with truffle oil, and topped with a few slices of truffle. The accompanying sauce is Mornay cheese mixed with truffle oil. Finally, the dish is sprinkled with a thin layer of gold leaf for added elegance.
Besides getting its name on the books, Serendipity restaurant wants to use its premium potato dish as a statement, announcing that the restaurant has reopened and is ready to welcome customers after being closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The restaurant's marketing campaign was truly effective, with orders for the special potato dish lasting for more than 10 weeks.
Joe Calderone, the restaurant owner and chef, shared his idea: “The past year has been a tough time, and we need something fresh and positive. I wanted Serendipity to be a place for fun. People come here to celebrate, to escape from the dreary reality.”
This isn't the first time this restaurant has been listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Previously, it also held the world records for the most expensive burger ($295) and the most expensive ice cream ($1,000).
