The two-day Singapore Festival is an opportunity for the Singapore Tourism Board to showcase the unique culture and travel experiences of the Lion City. Through the communication message "Singapore – Where Passion Made Possible," the festival is part of an effort to bring the image of the island nation closer to the people of northern Vietnam.
Representatives from the Singapore Embassy, the Hanoi People's Committee, and the Singapore Tourism Board released balloons to inaugurate the Singapore Festival 2019.
First launched in August 2017, the "Where Passion Unleashes Potential" brand fully embodies Singapore's unwavering commitment to pursuing and realizing its passions. Based on lifestyle criteria, interests, and travel goals, Singapore introduced four interest groups: Foodie, Collector, Explorer, and Progressor. In the second phase of the new communication campaign, three new interest groups were announced: Culture Shaper, Socialiser, and Action Seeker.
From early morning, people in the capital lined up in long queues in front of Singaporean food stalls to experience the new culinary scene.
The festival aims to offer visitors a unique cultural experience of Singapore through a series of exciting activities. The first activity is creative artwork, impressive performances, and an outdoor film screening for Culture Shapers. At the festival, they will be able to indulge their passion for art with masterpieces created by talented artists from Singapore.
The festival features numerous artworks with QR codes for participants to interact with.
The artwork "The Rainbow Connection" is made from hand-painted cookie jars combined with solar-powered lights.
In addition, there's the distinctive Michelin-starred street food for foodies, cooking enthusiasts, and those eager to experience new flavors, as well as interesting attractions, events, and unique cultural destinations (Chinatown, Kampong Giam, Little India, and Katong/Joo Chiat) for explorers who are always searching for new lands and writing their own stories.
The festival features photo booths representing the distinctive cultural communities of Singapore.
The festival also features fashion exhibitions showcasing unique local designs for collectors – a Fashion District with a range of Singaporean brands, the first-ever international Design Orchard exhibition, and a one-of-a-kind Peranakan fashion show; as well as a vibrant musical experience for socializers. The festival is also a feast of sound and light, providing an impressive entertainment space with musical performances from renowned DJs and singers.
