The two-day Singapore Festival is an opportunity for the Singapore Tourism Board to introduce the unique culture and tourism experiences of the Lion Island. Through the communication message “Singapore – Where Passion Made Possible”, the festival is part of the effort to bring the image of the Island closer to the people of the Northern region of Vietnam.
Representatives of the Singapore Embassy, Hanoi People's Committee and Singapore Tourism Board released balloons to open the Singapore Festival 2019.
First launched in August 2017, the media brand “Where Passion Unleashes Potential” has fully demonstrated Singapore’s spirit of determination and relentless efforts to realize its passion. Accordingly, based on the criteria of lifestyle, interests and the purpose of each trip, Singapore introduced 4 Interest groups named Foodie, Collector, Explorer and Progressor. In the second phase of the new media message campaign, three new Interest groups including Culture Shaper, Socializer and Action Seeker were announced.
Since early morning, people in the capital have lined up in front of Singaporean food stalls to experience the new cuisine.
The festival aims to bring visitors to experience Singapore’s unique culture through a series of exciting activities. The first activity is creative artworks, impressive performances and outdoor film screenings for Culture Shapers. Coming to the festival, they will satisfy their passion for art with masterpieces created by talented artists from Singapore.
The festival displays many works of art with QR codes for participants to interact with.
"The Rainbow Connection" is made from hand-painted cookie jars combined with solar lights.
In addition, there is Michelin-standard street food for foodies, cooking enthusiasts who want to enjoy new flavors and interesting places to visit, events and cultural destinations (Chinatown, Kampong Giam, Little India and Katong/Joo Chiat) for explorers who are always looking for new lands and writing their own stories.
At the festival, there are photo corners representing Singapore's unique cultural communities.
The festival also features a fashion showcase of unique local designs for Collectors - bringing to the Fashion District a range of Singaporean brands, Design Orchard's first international exhibition and a unique Peranakan costume show; and a vibrant music experience for Socialisers. The festival is also a light and sound party, providing an impressive entertainment space with music performances from famous DJs and singers.
