Metropole mooncakes have very typical and familiar flavors of Hanoians such as: baked cakes, traditional mixed-fruit mooncakes, green bean and salted egg fillings or lotus seed and green rice fillings, black sesame and coconut fillings. In addition, Sous Chef Nguyen Thanh Van - the first Vietnamese woman to be a member of the French Culinary Academy - also created new fillings such as fig and orange caramel cakes, pistachio and chocolate cakes and especially durian cakes.
In addition, with the desire to preserve Vietnamese national traditions, the hotel also launched carp-shaped cakes - symbolizing the soul of the moon. In particular, Metropole moon cakes are made according to a unique recipe and do not use any preservatives.
All cakes are handmade by talented sous chef Nguyen Thanh Van and the Metropole’s experienced chef team. Sous chef Nguyen Thanh Van shares: “The secret to making Metropole’s signature mooncakes lies in the right amount of dough. The crust is thin and delicate, but sturdy enough to withstand the heat during baking.”
You can choose a box of 4 large cakes with 4 flavors (250gr/piece) for 1,990,000 VND or a small box of 6 cute cakes with 6 different flavors (100gr/piece) for 1,790,000 VND.

This year, the hotel also introduced 100 VVIP mooncake boxes, each containing 6 large mooncakes and a bottle of Château le Grand Verdus, Bordeaux Supérieur 2015 wine. The luxurious and elegant cake boxes are royal blue with gold borders, decorated with ceramic figures and the Metropole logo.
