Metropole mooncakes boast very distinctive and familiar Hanoi flavors such as: baked mooncakes, traditional mixed fillings, salted egg yolk and mung bean filling, lotus seed and glutinous rice filling, and black sesame and coconut filling. In addition, Deputy Chef Nguyen Thanh Van – the first Vietnamese woman to be a member of the French Culinary Academy – has created new fillings such as fig and orange caramel filling, pistachio and chocolate filling, and especially durian filling.
Furthermore, with the desire to preserve Vietnamese national traditions, the hotel also launched mooncakes shaped like carp – symbolizing the spirit of the moon. Notably, Metropole mooncakes are made according to a unique recipe and contain absolutely no preservatives.
All the mooncakes are handmade by the talented sous chef Nguyen Thanh Van and the experienced Metropole culinary team. Sous chef Nguyen Thanh Van shared: “The secret to making Metropole's mooncakes with their unique flavor lies in the perfectly proportioned dough. The crust is thin and delicate, yet firm enough to withstand the heat during baking.”
You can choose a box of 4 large cakes with 4 different flavors (250g/cake) for 1,990,000 VND or a small box of 6 lovely cakes with 6 different flavors (100g/cake) for 1,790,000 VND.

This year, the hotel is also introducing 100 VVIP gift boxes, each containing six large mooncakes and a bottle of Château le Grand Verdus, Bordeaux Supérieur 2015. The luxurious and elegant gift boxes are royal blue with gold trim, adorned with ceramic figurines and the Metropole logo.
Metropole mooncakes are available for sale at L'Epicerie du Metropole bakery from August 29th to October 4th, from 7:30 AM to 9:30 PM.
