Located in the east of Korea, Gyeongsangbuk-do province (abbreviated as Gyeongbuk) is the largest province in Korea with an area of 19,029 km2, a 335 km long coastline, beautiful natural landscapes with hundreds of famous sights and specialties.
Gyeongbuk Province is proud to be the place that preserves many Korean cultural traditions and Confucian culture. This is also the place where famous landmarks, many hundred-year-old ancient villages with unique traditional cultural festivals are concentrated. Gyeongju City - the capital of the thousand-year-old Silla Dynasty is known as the "roofless museum" to admire many relics recognized by UNESCO as world cultural heritages such as Buddha's Kingdom Temple, Seokguram Cave, Donggung Palace and Yuezhi. Andong City, located in the center of northern Gyeongbuk, is famous for Hahoe Village - a UNESCO world cultural heritage, with traditional mask dances and fire on ropes. In addition, Andong also has a unique culinary system such as steamed chicken alley currently sold at 30 stores in Andong traditional market, mammoth bakery with soft, fragrant cheese ice cream and more than 100 famous specialties such as apples, pears, mulberries, ginseng. When coming to Mungyeong city, visitors can immerse themselves in nature, letting the beautiful landscapes fill their eyes through physical activities such as cycling on iron rails, swinging on high ropes...
Through this workshop and the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement, KTO in Vietnam and Gyeongbuk Provincial Tourism Bureau hope to bring a lot of useful tourism information as well as open up many prospects in developing tourism products to Gyeongbuk Province in particular and to Korea in general.
