Thai Food and Culture Festival at Windsor Plaza Hotel

Explore the rich traditions of Thailand at the Thai Food and Culture Festival held from April 19 to 28 at the Windsor Plaza Hotel.

Diners will experience many favorite dishes from the Land of Smiles at Café Central An Dong's dinner buffet, as well as enjoy traditional Thai music and dance and participate in a lucky draw with nightly prizes and a grand prize.

Two guest chefs from Thailand will present a special menu of home-cooked dishes at the dinner buffet from Monday to Friday for VND698,000/person, including free flow of German draught beer, juice, and soft drinks; and on Saturday and Sunday for VND798,000/person, including free flow of sparkling wine, German draught beer, juice, and soft drinks.

During the festival, three different buffet menus will be served at each dinner, featuring traditional Thai dishes such as goong fu (spicy prawn salad), tom yum goong (traditional Thai spicy and sour prawn soup), hor mok pla (steamed fish in curry paste) and nuer pad pong karee (stir-fried beef curry), along with delicious desserts such as sagu cantaloupe ma praw orn (tapioca pearls, melon and coconut milk dessert) and ponlamai kae sa lak ruam (carved fruits).

The head chef for the festival is Chef Bang-Orn Narkrung from The Landmark Bangkok Hotel. With over 30 years of experience in the culinary industry, Chef Orn has had the opportunity to hone and showcase her talent in many countries around the world such as the UK, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Finland, Spain and Hong Kong. “I am proud to be Thai and I love to bring Thai cuisine to the world. It makes me happy to see people enjoying the taste of Thai dishes that I make,” she shared.

Joining Chef Orn in the preparation of the dish is her colleague, Chef Thitikamol Vimuktanon from Thai Kitchen, located at The Landmark Bangkok Hotel. Originally from Bangkok, Chef Thitikamol has 13 years of culinary experience and is known for his artistic fruit and vegetable carvings and his delicious desserts.

The festival will be made more exciting with nightly art performances starting at 7pm, introducing traditional Thai dances such as the fingernail dance (Fon lep), silk weaving dance (Fon Sao Mai), and the four-region dance (Ram Si Phak). The restaurant will also be specially decorated with a welcome gate designed in traditional Thai architecture, along with Thai flags and other decorations to create a colorful festive atmosphere.

Mr. Adwin Chong, General Manager of Windsor Plaza Hotel, said that this festival will bring diners a unique experience in terms of taste, music, dance and decoration style imbued with traditional Thai culture. “With the participation of talented guest chefs, all the senses of diners will be involved in an attractive culinary journey,” he shared.
