These are all key historical sites and destinations in Hanoi, always attracting a large number of tourists visiting the capital. According to statistics, Ngoc Son Temple and other revolutionary resistance relics (5D Ham Long, 48 Hang Ngang, 90 Tho Nhuom, Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in Van Phuc) attracted 630,000 visitors, generating nearly 17 billion VND in revenue. Hoa Lo Prison received nearly 295,000 visitors, generating 7 billion VND in revenue. The Temple of Literature - National University received over 773,000 visitors, with revenue reaching 21 billion VND. Thus, the relics under the management of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports achieved revenue more than three times higher than the same period in 2022, exceeding the 2023 plan by 25%.

To enhance the value and attractiveness of the destination, historical sites in Hanoi organize many unique cultural activities. The Hoa Lo Prison Relic Management Board organizes exhibitions and exchanges such as: a thematic exhibition "Moment of Rebirth" commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Victory Day and the return of revolutionary soldiers captured and imprisoned by the enemy (1973 - 2023); and nine exchange sessions between agencies, organizations, and units in the city with historical witnesses. At the relic site, the "Sacred Night 2" and "Sacred Night 3" programs continue to take place, attracting a large number of young people to participate and experience them.
The Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giám Cultural and Scientific Activities Center, in collaboration with various organizations and individuals, organizes numerous cultural and educational activities at the site: a Spring Calligraphy Festival themed "The Dignified Teacher-Student Relationship"; an exhibition "Van Mieu in the Revival of Hanoi Heritage in the Period 1898 - 1954"; launching activities for the creative space at the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giám historical site; a talk show on applying cultural materials in artistic creation... The Center collaborated with the Japanese Embassy to organize a performance of the Kyogen comedy "Bon San" and an exhibition of traditional Japanese Nohgaku masks; collaborated with the State of Hessen of the Federal Republic of Germany to award prizes to students with outstanding academic achievements; and the "World Harmony Tea" program - a Cultural and Tourism Week at Van Mieu Lake…
The Hanoi Museum maintained its doors to visitors, deploying staff to provide guided tours and receiving over 61,000 visitors. According to Do Dinh Hong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, from now until the end of the year, the historical sites under the Department's management will continue to implement exhibitions, cultural and artistic activities to create highlights that attract visitors. In particular, the Temple of Literature - National University is expected to launch a night tour program; and coordination with relevant agencies is underway to prepare a pedestrian zone around the site.
With the aim of making tourism in the capital city a truly leading economic sector, within the system of tasks and solutions related to cultural tourism, Hanoi's tourism industry has identified the focus on building a Hanoi cultural tourism brand. This brand is based on unique cultural values, with a focus on heritage values and culinary culture, thereby forming a system of distinctive, high-quality, and valuable tourist destinations and products.
Therefore, in recent times, the Hanoi Department of Tourism has also implemented a plan to develop unique and attractive cultural tourism products; improve the quality of tourist areas and destinations associated with historical and cultural relics, festivals, craft villages, and ancient villages in order to preserve and promote the sustainable cultural heritage values of the Capital with high economic value. The goal is to develop high-quality tourism associated with building a distinct and prominent tourism brand for the Capital on the tourism map of Vietnam and the region.
