Both mysterious and alluring, the four new Carbon TPT® versions, adorned with diamonds and rose gold studs, enrich the RM 07-01 women's collection. “It all began with a vision of a burst of stars occurring in the deep darkness,” explains Cecile Guenat, Creative Director and Brand Development. “We wanted to reconsider our approach to gem setting as a way to bring elements together in a powerful way.”
Each version asserts its own distinct personality. The RM 07-01 Dark Night foreshadows the appearance of countless constellations, represented by the sparkling golden prongs. Additionally, diamonds shine brightly and are eye-catching throughout the RM 07-01 Starry Night, with its Carbon TPT® bracelet, and also on the RM 07-01 Bright Night, with its 5N rose gold case featuring a super-fine sandblasted finish. Finally, the RM 07-01 Misty Night embodies the warm sparkle of the sky, adorned with 5N rose gold pillars.

In this collection, diamonds and Carbon TPT® complement each other to highlight the unique characteristics of both, achieving a true symbiosis between darkness and light. These features related to the setting technique attest to Richard Mille's expertise in handling Carbon TPT®. Unlike gold, which allows artisans to shape prongs used to secure diamonds with conventional tools, the hardness of Carbon TPT® forces the hands of professional artisans to yield to precision tools equipped with diamond-tipped drills for setting.
The diamonds and 5N red gold prongs are polished and hand-set into grooves of varying diameters. “Using studs as a decorative element is an aesthetic approach that significantly highlights the burst of light,” adds Cecile Guenat. Like the middle layers of the watch case, the dial and various setting styles are also developed throughout the collection.
All four versions utilize the in-house CRMA2 movement, an open-case automatic movement made of grade 5 titanium with variable geometry hour, minute, and rotor settings. Carbon TPT® – a lightweight and durable engineering material with a velvety smooth surface that enhances the warm and comfortable feel both to the touch and when worn – ensures optimal protection for the movement. At the same time, it creates a distinct and impressive look for each version, thanks to the variety of setting effects and wave designs, making each watch unique.
