The right place for corporate incentive travel
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnamese businesses often organized incentive trips for employees or agents and distributors 2-4 times a year. Accordingly, the top considerations were based on budget, participants and the popularity of the destination.
According to a survey conducted by Outbox Vietnam and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in March 2022 to understand the behavior of Vietnamese businesses and business travelers, businesses will continue to maintain annual incentive trips as a form of motivation for employees after the pandemic.

Based on the above criteria, Singapore is one of the suitable destinations because of its safety and flexible entry regulations such as not requiring a negative Covid-19 test result before departure, even for those who have not been vaccinated.
Additionally, in the survey, businesses also appreciated destinations that could provide all-in-one services.
Vietnamese business travelers expect business opportunities in Singapore
According to the survey, up to 96.3% of Vietnamese business travelers said the purpose of the trip was to improve work skills and 80.4% wanted to expand relationships and seek business opportunities. Meanwhile, 71.6% wanted to attend work-related seminars, while 69.5% were interested in combining business and entertainment.
The survey results also show that the factors that greatly influence the decision to choose a destination are visa procedures and immigration procedures. Equally important factors include a professional business environment, quality personal development training programs, professional services and natural landscapes.
Besides, among businesses in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, about 23% believe that Singapore can provide a healthy business environment and career development opportunities.
Singapore tourism recovers with major MICE events and increased international arrivals
Not only attracting an audience of up to 302,000 people, Singapore also hosts at least 25 MICE events with nearly 90,000 delegates participating during the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix Formula 1 race.
High-profile conferences including Forbes Global CEO Conference, Time 100 Leadership Forum and Crypto Token 2049 conference, Singapore Fintech Festival attracted attendees from over 115 countries.
Accordingly, MICE events promise to continue to be one of the driving forces for Singapore's development. In addition, the Singapore Tourism Board expects the number of international arrivals to reach 12-14 million in 2023, with the tourism industry recovering before 2024.
Kwee Wei-Lin, president of the Singapore Hotels Association, described the outlook for 2023 as one of cautious optimism for a sustainable recovery of the tourism industry supported by a rich MICE event pipeline and reimagined experiences and services in the island nation.
According to a survey by Outbox Vietnam and STB, Singapore is a high-quality tourist destination with suitable facilities for business trips. In addition, the island nation is also ranked first in Southeast Asia in terms of providing training programs for self-development and a professional business environment, facilitating the expansion of business networks, with a diverse and convenient public transport system.
