Mövenpick Hotels Group introduces a seven-course gourmet menu to guests.

03/10/2017

From October 20th to November 20th, Mövenpick Hotels will offer guests a novel culinary experience with its seven-course "Bistronomie" menu at all its restaurants worldwide.

The "Bistronomie" concept originated in the 1990s with French chefs who decided to serve high-end cuisine in smaller, more intimate restaurants, rather than the luxurious establishments of the past. "Bistronomie" subsequently became a popular trend in French cuisine, marking a significant shift in global gastronomy. Inspired by this trend, the talented team of chefs at Mövenpick has created a "Bistronomie" menu featuring seven exquisite and innovative dishes.

The menu features renowned appetizers such as “salade niçoise” (French-style tuna salad), “plateau de fruits de mer” (mixed seafood platter), “moules marinières” (steamed mussels), and “cabillaud à la bordelaise” (pan-seared cod), as well as main courses like “pot-au-feu à la bourgeoisie” (beef stew with vegetables) or “cordon-bleu au comet” (breaded and fried veal rolls with cheese and ham, served with mashed potatoes and truffles), all carefully selected from fresh ingredients and meticulously prepared to deliver the perfect, authentic French culinary experience.

With a commitment to creating a unique and healthy culinary experience, the menu includes a vegetarian option: "pot-au-feu végétarien" (French-style vegetable stew). Additionally, the seafood in the "plateau de fruits de mer" (French-style mixed seafood platter) will be selected and served according to your specific request. For those with a sweet tooth, enjoying a signature Mövenpick Gourmand coffee with a slice of Swiss chocolate cake is an irresistible choice.

“When it comes to fine dining, Mövenpick is always confident in being a ‘pioneer’ in bringing exciting and innovative alternatives to classic cooking methods – a step very close to the ‘Bistronomie’ trend,” shared Olivier Chavy, Chairman of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.

Thomas Hollenstein, Director of Culinary for Europe at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, who came up with the idea for the "Bistronomie" menu, added: "Always listening to and understanding the individual tastes of food-loving travelers around the world, we have brought the essence of French cuisine to life in a completely fresh and appealing way."
