Thailand launches "Visa-for-Shopping" program.

According to information from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, tourists will have the opportunity to participate in the latest "Visa-for-Shopping" program from November 15, 2018 to January 15, 2019.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has officially launched its year-end promotional season, “Amazing Thailand Grand Sale,” with a unique “Visa-for-Shopping” program, targeting tourists from neighboring markets in Southeast Asia, East Asia, and South Asia.

Thailand is currently a favorite shopping destination for international tourists.

Speaking to the press, Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat, Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, said: “This promotional program is the beginning of a series of activities within Thailand’s ‘special year-end gift’ project for international tourists. This is hoped to stimulate local income through increased tourism-related shopping activities.”

The "Visa Shopping Deals" program will offer many special deals for tourists visiting Thailand.

The Director-General of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, also confirmed that the Tourism Authority of Thailand is currently working actively with partners, manufacturers, companies owning famous product brands, shopping malls, credit card companies, etc., to develop the "Visa-for-Shopping" program. The program will offer special discounts in addition to the year-end promotional programs currently being implemented at shopping locations in Bangkok and throughout Thailand.

Products including local handicrafts, domestic cosmetics, household goods, and leading Thai brands are among those heavily promoted by the Tourism Authority in its "Visa-for-Shopping" program.

Currently, the number of countries whose citizens are exempt from visa requirements when entering Thailand has reached over 20 countries, regions, and territories. These are considered potential shopping customers, in addition to the regular local shoppers.
