10/09/2015

On September 5, 2015, The Cliff Resort & Residences, together with the Center for Action and Linkage for Environment and Development – CHANGE & the global climate change movement 350.org Vietnam, launched a social media campaign called “It’s All Eaten” as part of the “Stop Food Waste” project at the Vista restaurant within The Cliff Resort & Residences, and it was enthusiastically received by many diners.

The program, with the participation of the campaign's two goodwill ambassadors, Ha Okio and Thao Trang, created an extremely lively atmosphere, with dozens of shares of the message on social media, gradually contributing to the fund for meals for poor children.

The "Eat Up" campaign encourages diners to finish their meals, then post photos on social media (Facebook) with the hashtags #anhetroi, #eatupfood, and check in at the restaurant. For each successful share, The Cliff Resort & Residences will contribute 20,000 VND to the "4,000 Meals for Poor Children" fund. This is one of the campaigns that mobilizes support from both restaurants and diners to change wasteful food behavior and bring the joy of a fuller meal to those in need.

Singer Ha Okio - the passionate Saigon iced coffee singer - said, "Stopping food waste will be a long battle, because habits take a long time to change; but we must start now. And the family is the best environment for children to emulate and develop civilized, environmentally friendly habits."

The uniquely beautiful Thao Trang shared: "To achieve the success I have today, I rose and matured through difficult times, even periods of extreme hardship. Therefore, my family values food and maintains the habit of saving. By participating in this meaningful project, I hope to contribute in some way to gradually change the wasteful food habits of the community."

Mr. Nguyen Duc Huy – a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City vacationing at The Cliff – shared: “I strongly support this meaningful environmental campaign. The program is truly bringing about positive changes, because I am aware that some places have an abundance of food while others are experiencing shortages.” – one of the first diners enthusiastically shared a picture of “Finished” at the Vista restaurant.

On its opening day alone, the Go Green At The Cliff program raised over 5 million VND for the fund for disabled children in Binh Thuan province, and dozens of tourists participated in planting trees and taking home beautiful baskets of plants they had made themselves.

The Cliff Resort & Residence's Go Green program is a multi-year project emphasizing corporate social responsibility, aiming to provide opportunities to experience environmentally friendly activities alongside travel. The 2015 program will kick off with activities supporting campaigns such as "Eat It All," planting trees for landscaping, and recycling items into decorative products to raise funds for disabled children in Binh Thuan province.
