Within the framework of the fair, at the Korean tourism promotion area, KTO will focus on introducing to visitors spring festivals, medical tourism, resorts and beauty in Korea, luxury tourism, tourism in new localities, transit tourism & independent tourism, tourism to experience the Korean wave (Hallyu) and services from leading Korean tourism units.

VITM International Tourism Fair is an event organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism and the Vietnam Tourism Association with the participation of more than 25 countries, nearly 650 government agencies, state agencies, travel businesses and welcoming about 65,000 visitors each fair. VITM is a large-scale tourism exhibition typical of the Vietnamese tourism industry, providing useful tourism information and advice to Vietnamese people who have the desire and need to travel in the present and the future, while contributing to promoting more effective tourism business activities.

By attending this event, KTO hopes to bring a lot of useful tourism information as well as new Korean tourism services to Vietnamese tourists. In particular, in this year's fair, KTO will cooperate with 7 Korean medical and aesthetic centers with facilities in Vietnam such as Kangnam Center to promote and provide more in-depth consultation on medical tourism, health care and beauty in the market with many potential customers such as Southeast Asia, in which Vietnam is the focus.
In addition, on this occasion, the Busan Tourism Promotion Department, Korea will also coordinate with travel agencies in Hanoi to organize a Busan tourism introduction seminar focusing on promoting luxury tourism, Hallyu tourism, and medical tourism. At the seminar, Vietravel Tourism and Marketing Joint Stock Company and Modetour Company will sign a memorandum of cooperation with the Busan Tourism Promotion Department on "Promoting tourism to Busan" to attract more Vietnamese tourists to this famous port city this year with a variety of tourism products and effective product promotion and sales activities.
In addition to promoting the beauty of Busan in general, at the upcoming VITM, the Busan Tourism Promotion Bureau will focus on providing useful information about tourism on many unique topics only available in Busan such as medical tourism and the Busan One Festival, which gathers many famous K-pop stars. This year, Busan city and Vietjetair have coordinated to improve the quality of flights from Vietnam to this city, in order to attract more and more Vietnamese tourists to travel to this locality in Korea.
In addition to the Busan Tourism Promotion Bureau, other local tourism promotion bureaus in Korea such as Incheon, Gyeongbuk, Jeonbuk, Jeju, etc. will also have a promotional table with many useful tourism publications for visitors at the KTO booth at the fair. At the same time, within the framework of the fair, major Landtour companies in Korea will also have B2B meetings, meeting and exchanging with potential new partners, which are Vietnamese travel agencies, to create conditions for stronger development of tourism products to Korea.
Thanks to the good development in Vietnam - Korea diplomatic relations combined with the increasing number of flights between the two countries, in the past 3 years, the number of Vietnamese tourists to Korea has achieved a growth rate of 33%, much higher than the number of tourists from Malaysia and Indonesia in 2017. This growth rate has made Vietnam the most potential market for the Korean tourism industry during the difficult development period in the Chinese market.
Mr. Jung Chang Wook, Chief Representative of the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam (KTO) also said: “Currently, there are many Korean enterprises investing in the Vietnamese market and the Korean cultural wave is also having an increasingly clear influence here. These factors have created a very good effect to help increase the number of routes and flights between the two countries every year, thereby contributing to increasing the number of Vietnamese tourists to Korea. Grasping this trend, the Korea Tourism Organization is and will continue to focus on promoting activities to promote Korea more and more diversely and innovatively so that Korea will be a tourist destination in the minds of more Vietnamese people.”
