Within the framework of the fair, at the Korean tourism promotion area, KTO will focus on introducing visitors to spring festivals, medical tourism, wellness and beauty tourism in Korea, luxury tourism, tourism to new destinations, transit and independent travel, tourism experiencing the Korean Wave (Hallyu), and services from leading Korean tourism companies.

The VITM International Tourism Fair is an event organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism and the Vietnam Travel Association, with the participation of more than 25 countries, nearly 650 government agencies, state agencies, and travel businesses, and attracting approximately 65,000 visitors each time the fair is held. VITM is a large-scale tourism exhibition representing the Vietnamese tourism industry, providing useful tourism information and advice for Vietnamese people who wish to travel now and in the future, while also contributing to promoting more effective tourism business activities.

By participating in this event, KTO hopes to provide useful travel information and introduce new Korean tourism services to Vietnamese tourists. In particular, at this year's fair, KTO will collaborate with seven Korean medical and cosmetic centers with facilities in Vietnam, such as Kangnam Center, to promote and provide more in-depth advice on medical tourism, healthcare, and beauty in a market with many potential customers such as Southeast Asia, with Vietnam as a key target.
Furthermore, on this occasion, the Busan Tourism Promotion Bureau of South Korea will also collaborate with travel agencies in Hanoi to organize a seminar introducing Busan tourism, focusing on promoting high-end tourism, Hallyu-themed tourism, and medical tourism. At the seminar, Vietravel Tourism and Marketing Joint Stock Company and Modetour will sign a cooperation agreement with the Busan Tourism Promotion Bureau titled "Promoting Tourism to Busan," aiming to attract more Vietnamese tourists to this famous port city this year with diverse tourism products and effective promotion and sales activities.
Besides promoting the overall beauty of Busan, at the upcoming VITM, the Busan Tourism Promotion Bureau will focus on providing useful information about tourism on unique themes only found in Busan, such as medical tourism and the Busan One Festival, featuring many famous K-pop stars. This year, the city of Busan and Vietjetair have collaborated to improve the quality of flights from Vietnam to the city, aiming to attract more Vietnamese tourists to this locality in South Korea.
Besides the Busan Tourism Promotion Bureau, other local tourism promotion bureaus in South Korea, such as Incheon, Gyeongbuk, Jeonbuk, Jeju, etc., will also have promotional booths with many useful tourism publications for visitors at the KTO booth at the fair. At the same time, within the framework of the fair, major Korean land tour companies will also hold B2B meetings and exchanges with potential new partners, namely Vietnamese travel agencies, to facilitate the stronger development of tourism products to South Korea.
Thanks to the positive development of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea, coupled with the increasing number of flights between the two countries, the number of Vietnamese tourists visiting South Korea has grown by 33% in the last three years, significantly surpassing the number of tourists from Malaysia and Indonesia in 2017. This growth has made Vietnam the most promising market for South Korea's tourism industry during a period of challenging growth in the Chinese market.
Mr. Jung Chang Wook, Chief Representative of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Vietnam, also stated: “Currently, many Korean businesses are investing in the Vietnamese market, and the Korean cultural wave is having an increasingly significant influence here. These factors have created a very positive effect, increasing the number of routes and flights between the two countries annually, thereby contributing to an increase in the number of Vietnamese tourists visiting Korea. Recognizing this trend, the Korea Tourism Organization is and will continue to focus on promoting Korea in a more diverse and innovative way so that Korea will become a more desirable tourist destination in the minds of more Vietnamese people.”
