Vietnam Airlines' safety film is shown before take-off on the entertainment system of every flight. In the new product launched in March 2019, Vietnam Airlines cleverly combined flight safety information with meaningful cultural values of the country. With this improvement, Vietnam Airlines is showing its constant transformation to keep up with the changing trends of the world.
Mr. Duong Tri Thanh - General Director of Vietnam Airlines shared: "There are many ways to convey complete and accurate flight safety information to passengers, in which the safety card is the most important form. Once the safety information is fully presented there, the flight safety film can have attractive and engaging approaches for passengers, not necessarily a dry information manual."
Vietnam Airlines' innovation in making flight safety films is following the trend of many major airlines in the world: conveying flight safety messages without the need for the appearance of airplanes, instead using images that simulate information on the plane, combined with music, scripts, and creative storylines.
Vietnam Airlines' 2019 flight safety video is a vivid combination of safety information integrated with scenes that reflect the cultural values and beauty of the country and people of Vietnam. With the mission of being the national airline, the cultural values and natural beauty of the country are also the values that Vietnam Airlines wants to spread widely to the world. The image of traditional Vietnam appears through the scene of a flight attendant bowing under the eaves in the Temple of Literature yard, or a bit of the old Hanoi house in the alley of Ma May street. At the same time, another modern Vietnam appears in the dynamic city of Saigon, where Bui Vien street is sparkling with lights at night. The brilliant natural scenery of Vietnam is also captured through captivating moments such as the coastal road of Nha Trang, the coral reef under the blue water of Phu Quoc... All the cinematic camera angles have created a vivid picture, attracting viewers and leading passengers to access flight safety information in the most natural way.

The setting of Vietnam Airlines' flight safety video shows both the cultural values and natural beauty of Vietnam.
Not only is the film shown on flights about aviation safety information, Vietnam Airlines' film also conveys general traffic safety messages to all passengers - who are present and participate in all traffic routes every day. Wearing seat belts on flights is as necessary as wearing seat belts in cars when participating in road traffic; or how to use life jackets in case of an emergency landing on water is also a reminder for people participating in waterway traffic to always ensure their own safety by using life jackets...

Vietnam Airlines’ 6-minute 20-second safety video is the result of 65 hours of filming in 4 locations from North to South, along with 5 months of hard work with thousands of working hours from the first step of the production project to the launch date. With scenes taken from the natural and attractive beauty of Vietnam, the video has solved the “problem” of how to attract passengers, from which flight safety will become a “cultural” value that passengers voluntarily comply with for their own safety.
