“Why Not Vietnam,” a 30-second documentary, was co-produced by CNN International and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. Following its efforts to combat Covid-19 in 2020, the image of Vietnam and its people received positive attention on international news sites, and was selected by many prestigious travel magazines as one of the safest destinations in the world in the post-pandemic era.
"Safety" and "Privacy" are also two key keywords in the upcoming campaign to develop Vietnamese tourism. It's evident that the destinations featured in "Why not Vietnam" are mostly peaceful cities with a slow pace of life or unspoiled, untouched locations.
Ngo Mon Gate in Hue is the first landmark featured in "Why not Vietnam".
Floating market culture is an integral part of the promotional campaign.
Old apartment buildings are also being promoted as a novel tourist experience.
The video concludes with a heartfelt invitation: “When you’re ready to travel again, why not Vietnam?”

The film will be screened for six weeks, from October 15th to mid-November, on CNN Asia, as well as on the official Vietnam tourism website (www.vietnam.travel) and social media platforms.
