Pierogi ruskie

Pierogi are not a traditional Polish dish - they were imported from Russia, but they are popular in Poland. Pierogi look a lot like wontons, with an outer shell made of unleavened flour, filled with sweet or salty fillings, steamed or fried, and served with butter, sour cream or fried onions. Common fillings include potatoes, salted fish, minced meat, cheese and fruit. Pierogi filled with meat, cabbage and mushrooms are called ruskie. This is a typical Polish dish.
Zapiekanka

Zapiekanka is a simple sandwich consisting of half a baguette stuffed with cheese and mushrooms and some traditional sandwich ingredients (onions, peppers, ham, sausages) and grilled until the cheese is melted. Served hot with tomato sauce, this is a popular street food in southern Poland.
Bigos

Bigos is considered a Polish specialty, consisting of meatballs, sausages stewed with sauerkraut, added with a little hot beer and honey, cinnamon, cloves. When the stewed ingredients are soft together and have a thick consistency, it is enjoyed with round bread to enhance the taste. This dish is very popular in Polish people's daily meals.
Paczki

Paczki is a traditional fried pastry that is extremely popular in Poland. Similar to American donuts, the main ingredients to make this pastry include flour, eggs, milk and deep-fried. The origin of this pastry is that the Polish people wanted to use up all the flour, eggs, milk, animal fat, cream and fruit jam in their families before everyone entered the Catholic month of Lent. So the last Thursday before Lent is also Paczki Day in Poland.
A traditional paczki is usually dusted with powdered sugar and filled with stewed plum jam and wild rose petal jam. Modern variations include popular jams such as strawberry, apple, raspberry, blueberry and even custard.
Zurek

Zurek is a sour soup made from rye, flour, mushrooms, potatoes, diced sausages and boiled eggs that are fermented to create a special flavor. Zurek soup is served in a hollowed out loaf of bread. After enjoying all the soup inside, you can eat the bread, at this time the soup has soaked into the bread, making the bread have a delicious and rich flavor.
Golabki

Golabki are cabbage rolls, traditionally filled with pork, onions, barley and herbs. The cabbage leaves are boiled until soft, stuffed with filling and then baked or steamed in a covered pot and served hot, often with tomato sauce or sour cream. They are a popular dish during Christmas and family gatherings.
