On the evening of June 27th, the MICHELIN Guide 2024 Announcement Ceremony was held at the InterContinental Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Michelin officially revealed all the selected restaurants included in the long-awaited MICHELIN Guide Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang 2024.
The prestigious Star Awards, the MICHELIN Green Star for sustainable cuisine, the popular Bib Gourmand award, and special awards for Young Chef, Sommelier, and Service Award were presented. Notably, the MICHELIN Green Star was announced for the first time within the framework of the event.
Mr. Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group, shared this at the MICHELIN Guide 2024 Announcement Ceremony.
The new MICHELIN Guide list features 164 restaurants – including 7 restaurants with one Michelin Star (2 new and 1 upgraded from MICHELIN Selected), 58 restaurants with Bib Gourmand awards (28 new and 1 transferred from MICHELIN Selected), and 99 restaurants with MICHELIN Selected awards, including 40 new establishments. Among the newly added to the MICHELIN Guide list, 10 are from Hanoi (5 Bib Gourmand and 5 MICHELIN Selected), 26 are from Ho Chi Minh City (2 one-Michelin-star restaurants, 8 Bib Gourmand, and 16 MICHELIN Selected), and 36 are from Da Nang (1 one-Michelin-star restaurant, 16 Bib Gourmand, and 19 MICHELIN Selected).
Mr. Ahmad Faiez Mohamed Pisal - Managing Director of Michelin Vietnam.
According to Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of MICHELIN Guides, Da Nang – a new addition to the MICHELIN Guide's second edition in Vietnam – enriches and diversifies the selections with unique local dishes and specialties, representing the cuisine of Central Vietnam while also reflecting influences from French, Chinese, and other Southeast Asian cultures.
Three new restaurants have joined the Michelin one-star list, bringing the total to seven.
The Michelin One-Star restaurants announced last year – including Gia, Hibana by Koki, Tam Vi, and Anan Saigon – retained their titles, and the 2024 Michelin One-Star list welcomes two new restaurants and one upgraded restaurant. The two new Michelin One-Star winners are: Akuna [Ho Chi Minh City], a restaurant specializing in innovative European cuisine with Vietnamese influences, paired with fine wines; and La Maison 1888 [Da Nang], a restaurant serving five- or seven-course menus with premium ingredients from Vietnam, France, and Japan.

The only restaurant from the MICHELIN Selected list to be upgraded to a MICHELIN Star is The Royal Pavilion [Ho Chi Minh City], which offers a diverse à la carte menu, set menus that respect Cantonese culinary heritage, and a dim sum menu served at lunchtime.
Nén Danang: The first restaurant in Vietnam to win the MICHELIN Green Star award.
Among the restaurants selected by the MICHELIN Guide, the MICHELIN Green Star honors establishments that are pioneers in building sustainable cuisine, offering experiences that combine culinary excellence with a serious commitment to environmental friendliness.
Nén Danang - a restaurant that received the MICHELIN Selected award - was awarded the first MICHELIN Green Star in Vietnam.
Nén Danang – a restaurant awarded the MICHELIN Selected award – was the first MICHELIN Green Star in Vietnam for its commitment to culinary sustainability. Having established itself as a pioneer in sustainable cuisine since its inception in 2017, Nén Danang consistently strives to promote local ingredients, with most of the ingredients used in its dishes being locally grown. The restaurant regularly shares information about its farm on various media platforms and encourages diners to support a greener, more sustainable future. Beyond conveying a positive message about sustainable cuisine to diners, the restaurant has also taken a strong step by collaborating with local schools, sharing information with the younger generation to spread the concept of "green."
The list of Bib Gourmand award winners has grown to 58 food establishments, with more than half (16 establishments) coming from Da Nang.
The number of Bib Gourmand award-winning restaurants doubled last year, totaling 58 establishments: 18 in Hanoi, 24 in Ho Chi Minh City, and 16 in Da Nang. Of the 29 new establishments, 16 are from Da Nang; 5 from Hanoi; and 8 from Ho Chi Minh City.
As a new addition to the MICHELIN Guide's list of destinations in Vietnam this year – alongside Hanoi in the North and Ho Chi Minh City in the South – Da Nang represents the cuisine of Central Vietnam and also reflects influences from French, Chinese, and Southeast Asian cuisines. The dishes in this coastal city leave a lasting impression with their fresh ingredients rather than complex recipes.

The list of Bib Gourmand recipients has doubled compared to last year.
The 16 new eateries from Da Nang on the 2024 Bib Gourmand list include: Bé Ni 2, a bustling 24/7 casual eatery serving daily rice dishes and seafood (mostly shellfish, caught locally for top quality) from evening to late night; Indian Aroma Restaurant, a restaurant serving representative dishes from North to South India, home to an experienced Indian chef, with must-try dishes such as fresh papadam (a type of thin Indian flatbread) dipped in mint chutney (a dish usually consisting of mixed vegetables and spices) and saag ghosh (a lamb and spinach curry from North India); And Hong Van Jellyfish Quang Noodles, a famous street food stall known for its Quang noodles and broth made from shrimp, giving it a rich, deep orange-red color, topped with quail eggs, pork, shrimp, meatballs, or jellyfish.
99 food establishments have been included in the MICHELIN Selected category for the first time.
Ninety-nine restaurants (including 40 new establishments) are listed in the selection by MICHELIN: 33 in Hanoi (including 5 new establishments), 47 in Ho Chi Minh City (including 16 new establishments), and 19 in Da Nang (all new names). These establishments are included in the selection list because they demonstrate the potential for future upgrades to Michelin Stars or the Gourmand Bib category.

New dining establishments in Hanoi that have been awarded the MICHELIN Selected prize include: Banh Cuon Ba Hoanh, a street food stall specializing in banh cuon – a Vietnamese steamed roll filled with minced pork and wood ear mushrooms; Hanoi Garden, a restaurant blending classic and contemporary Vietnamese cuisine; and Le Beaulieu, renowned for its fine French cuisine and selection of fine wines. In Ho Chi Minh City, the selected establishments include: Du Yen, a delicious vegetarian restaurant; Kobe Bistro, a restaurant specializing in French cuisine; and Oryz, an East Asian restaurant inspired by Asian culinary cultures and more.
Last but not least, MICHELIN Selected dining establishments in Da Nang include: Co Sau Quang Noodles, a restaurant serving Quang noodles with a rich, turmeric-infused broth and toppings such as chicken, fish, and shrimp; along with "pork in rice paper" - a must-try dish consisting of thinly sliced pork wrapped in rice paper with herbs and vegetables; Nam Danh, a spacious eatery serving traditional seafood dishes with scallops, shrimp, and oysters; and Olivia's Prime, a steakhouse serving premium imported seafood and beef cooked on a wood-fired grill, along with premium drinks, beer, and wine.
