To effectively implement this policy, the Hanoi People's Committee has assigned specific tasks to relevant departments and agencies. The Department of Construction is tasked with leading and coordinating closely with the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center, bus transport units, and Hanoi Railway Company Limited. These units must develop detailed implementation plans, ensuring safety, efficiency, and best serving the transportation needs of the people.
The Department of Construction will take the lead, direct, and coordinate with the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center, subsidized public bus passenger transport service providers, and Hanoi Railway Company Limited to implement plans that ensure safety, meaningfulness, and efficiency; and best serve the travel needs of residents and tourists.
In particular, transport units will have to closely monitor passenger numbers to promptly adjust and increase the frequency and number of trips, and extend operating hours in case of high demand. This aims to avoid overcrowding and congestion at train stations and bus terminals, ensuring that all citizens receive attentive service. Furthermore, strict control over the number of free tickets is also a mandatory requirement to ensure accuracy in the subsequent settlement and disbursement of subsidy funds.
Regarding funding, the Department of Finance is responsible for compiling and advising on subsidy funding sources, and guiding relevant units in the allocation, use, and settlement of funds in accordance with State regulations. The close coordination between departments and agencies demonstrates thorough and professional preparation, aiming towards a common goal of serving the people in the best possible way.
Hanoi will waive fares for subsidized public transport (buses and urban rail) for residents and tourists during the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) from August 30, 2025 to September 2, 2025.
