In anticipation of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Party, State, and Government leaders have given special attention and directed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a series of large-scale activities.
Following the close guidance of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, museums under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village and the Vietnam Contemporary Art Theatre, will open their doors free of charge to tourists and the public throughout the National Day holiday on September 2nd.
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, several museums and tourist attractions in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are offering free admission.
During these important holidays, museums and affiliated units will simultaneously launch many special exhibitions and displays, focusing on comprehensively introducing the history, culture, country, and people of Vietnam.
At the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the center for preserving President Ho Chi Minh's legacy, several notable activities will take place: a thematic exhibition titled "80 Years of the People's Police Remembering President Ho Chi Minh's Words" is scheduled to open on August 15th, followed by a thematic exhibition "Autumn of Independence" commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day, scheduled to open on August 26th. Particularly, on the occasion of National Day on September 2nd, the Museum will also present an outdoor exhibition of large-format oil paintings titled "Spring of Independence," promising to create an impressive artistic highlight.
The Ho Chi Minh Museum will feature many meaningful exhibitions and outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy.
In addition, the Vietnam National History Museum will also contribute to the series of events with a thematic exhibition "Popular Education Movement - Lighting Up the Future," scheduled to open on August 22nd. This exhibition will recreate an important period in history, when the entire nation united to eradicate illiteracy, laying the foundation for national education.

At the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, a series of art exhibitions and displays will be held to commemorate the August Revolution and National Day. Notably, the exhibition "Children of the Fatherland" is scheduled to open on August 15th, along with the contemporary exhibition "Artificial Intelligence in Applied Fine Arts" scheduled to open on August 22nd. Not only in Hanoi, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Ho Chi Minh City will also contribute to the series of events with the exhibition "Ho Chi Minh - Portrait of a Man," bringing the image of President Ho Chi Minh closer to the public in the South.

Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the bustling atmosphere of a "highland market" and enjoy unique cultural and artistic performances by the local ethnic communities living in the Village, celebrating National Day together. This series of events promises to bring a meaningful September 2nd holiday, both as an opportunity for the public to reflect on historical traditions and as a chance to discover and honor the diverse cultural values of the Vietnamese people.
The Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village will recreate the atmosphere of a highland market and organize cultural and artistic activities of ethnic minority communities.
