In the solemn atmosphere of commemorating International Museum Day on May 18th and looking forward to the historic milestone of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19th, 1890 - May 19th, 2025), Ho Chi Minh City, the cultural heart of the country, will open a special cultural space where history and art intertwine.
Accordingly, two prominent cultural sites in the city, the Ho Chi Minh City Museum located at 65 Ly Tu Trong Street, District 1, and the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts at 97 Pho Duc Chinh Street, District 1, will simultaneously offer free admission to all visitors throughout May 18th. Following this meaningful initiative, other museums in the city will continue to offer free entry on May 19th, creating the most favorable conditions for residents and tourists to explore and learn about the rich cultural and historical values of the nation.
The Ho Chi Minh City Museum held many activities on its anniversary to express gratitude to visiting tourists.
Beyond simply offering free admission, museums across the city are also simultaneously implementing many unique and meaningful activities, contributing to a deeper understanding and pride in the great President Ho Chi Minh and the glorious history of the nation.
Specifically, the Ho Chi Minh Museum (Ho Chi Minh City branch) will organize a traveling exhibition on the theme "Proud of the City Named After Him - Ho Chi Minh" at the campus of the University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, starting from May 12th. Simultaneously, the Museum will also present to the public a thematic exhibition "The South Forever Remembers His Kindness" at its Ho Chi Minh City branch headquarters, and notably, this exhibition will also be presented in Nghe An province, the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh, demonstrating the widespread affection and respect for him.

The Ton Duc Thang Museum also actively participated in the commemorative activities by collaborating with the An Giang Provincial Museum to hold a thematic exhibition "Uncle Ton - The Journey from 1945 to 1975" in An Giang.
In addition, the Ton Duc Thang Museum collaborates with major universities in the city such as Ton Duc Thang University, Cao Thang Technical College, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture to organize a creative playground, a short film competition, encouraging young people to share interesting and touching stories about President Ton Duc Thang.

From May 19th to June 9th, the Ho Chi Minh City History Museum will collaborate with other museums and private collectors to organize a thematic exhibition titled "National Treasures - Masterpieces of Heritage in Ho Chi Minh City," showcasing the country's invaluable cultural heritage. Simultaneously, the museum will also hold a thematic photo exhibition, "President Ho Chi Minh - His Life and Revolutionary Career," within its grounds, providing the public with a deeper understanding of the great life and career of President Ho Chi Minh.
The Ho Chi Minh City History Museum is exhibiting a special theme: National Treasures - Masterpieces of Heritage in Ho Chi Minh City.
Starting on May 18th, the Ho Chi Minh City Museum will also present a thematic exhibition titled "Following in the Footsteps of Uncle Ho Through Stamp and Postcard Collections," offering a unique perspective on the revolutionary life of President Ho Chi Minh through historical stamps and postcards. In addition, the Museum continues to maintain and expand its regular exhibitions such as the themes "Letters from the Resistance War" and "The Journey of Huynh Phuong Dong," recreating the heroic memories of the nation.
In particular, the traveling exhibition themed "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa - Vietnam's Islands and Seas" will continue to be presented in schools throughout the districts and counties, contributing to raising awareness of maritime sovereignty among the younger generation. The exhibition "National-level Architectural and Artistic Monuments in Ho Chi Minh City" will also be organized in schools, showcasing unique and historically valuable architectural works of the city.
Many special activities will be showcased to attract young people who love history to experience the culture.
Another special activity is the collaboration between the Ho Chi Minh City Museum and the Liaison Committee of Former Southern Youth to recreate the "Three-Compartment Secret Bunker - the meeting place of the Regional Party Committee of Zone 1 (Go Vap District Party Committee) and the 67B Commando Team," an important historical site where documents and weapons were printed and hidden during the fierce resistance war from 1965 to 1968.
With this rich and meaningful series of activities, museums in Ho Chi Minh City promise to become attractive cultural destinations during this special anniversary, contributing to spreading love of history, culture, and national pride to a wide audience.
