Delayed by more than a year due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games officially took place in Japan from July 23rd to August 8th, 2021. Exciting competitions are underway, and medals have been awarded to athletes at this biggest sporting event on the planet.
The opening ceremony, held on Friday, July 23rd, featured over 11,000 athletes from 200 countries and territories worldwide. However, this year's Olympics were held without spectators, as Tokyo remains under a state of emergency due to the pandemic. Only 5 out of 42 venues were open to fans.
