Located on Shengshang Island (China), Houtouwan village was once home to over 2,000 fishermen. Over time, families gradually abandoned their homes to seek new settlements as the village could no longer meet basic needs such as education or trade. By the 19th century, the number of abandoned houses exceeded the number of people who chose to stay. The village was gradually "swallowed" by nature, covered in a lush green blanket of vegetation. This fascinating sight has transformed the village into a tourist attraction in recent years.

The entire village was immersed in the green of the vegetation.
