Located on Shengshang Island (China), Houtouwan Village was once home to more than 2,000 fishermen. Over time, families gradually abandoned their homes to find new settlements when the village could no longer meet basic needs for education or trade. By the 19th century, the number of abandoned houses was greater than the number of people who decided to stay. The village was gradually "swallowed" by nature, covered in a layer of lush green trees and leaves. This amazing sight has turned the village into a tourist attraction in recent years.
