The national tourism stimulus alliance will carry out many promotional programs to attract domestic tourists, while planning to gradually approach international tourists when the epidemic ends.

On the afternoon of May 6, at the Online Conference on Solutions to Restore the Tourism Industry After Covid-19, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association Nguyen Huu Tho emphasized that the industry's first goal is to restore the domestic market, while also considering the international market.

According to him, during this period, Vietnam tourism can resume but must be associated with safety. Areas without the epidemic such as the Northwest, the Northern Delta, the Mekong Delta, the South Central Coast... need to promote the image and tourism products to attract domestic tourists first. Tours and hotels also need to implement promotional programs to encourage tourists to spend, however, reduce prices but not reduce service quality and procedures.

In addition, the Vietnamese tourism industry will also build more eco-tourism and long-term resort tours to reduce travel, temporarily focusing on one locality, limiting cross-country and inter-provincial tours so that tourists feel more secure when purchasing tours.

While previous tourism stimulus programs were only implemented individually in each region, starting from mid-May, the alliance will expand to a national scale. In the North, the Association will focus on tour products along the coastal strip, stretching from Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh. In addition, the Northwestern provinces and the Northeast arc such as Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen... will also promote and attract tourists to visit the two global geoparks.

In the Central region, the stimulus center is Da Nang, Quang Nam, Hue. In the Central Highlands and South Central region, the stimulus program will be expanded to Kon Tum and Dak Nong in addition to the provinces that have participated in the domestic tourism stimulus since February. In the South, the Mekong Delta provinces will promote synchronous development with localities across the country. The Southeast region such as Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Vung Tau, Dong Nai... will also actively participate in the alliance.

Travel associations and hotels can work with airlines to create tourism products at reduced prices without reducing quality, or keep prices the same but increase services. Local authorities can coordinate with tourist areas and attractions to reduce ticket prices to attract domestic tourists, gradually recovering the tourism industry after the Covid-19 pandemic.
