Green Rebel - Indonesia's leading plant-based meat food company - officially launches in Vietnam.

Green Rebel, a plant-based meat brand from Indonesia, has officially launched in Vietnam, in partnership with Annam Group as its local distributor. The launch event took place on September 14th at P'ti Saigon.

After launching in Indonesia in 2020 amidst the pandemic, the brand successfully expanded to Singapore in 2022, and continued to gain popularity in Malaysia, the Philippines, and South Korea. Continuing its mission to bring plant-based meat products with Asian flavors to the world, Green Rebel has now arrived in Vietnam.

According to a survey by Rakuten Insight Market Research, the Vietnamese market has a high demand for vegan meat products, with 86% of consumers incorporating these foods into their diets. Increasing numbers of people in Vietnam and Asia are switching to vegetarian or flexitarian diets for health or environmental reasons.

The event was also attended by the leadership of Green Rebel and Annam Group, including Mr. Olivier Depas, representative of the hotel and restaurant channel, Ms. Julie Torok, representative of the retail channel of Annam Group, and the two co-founders of Green Rebel – Ms. Helga Angelina and Mr. Max Mandias.

At the event, Chef Sakal Phoeng presented a culinary demonstration to diners, along with the opportunity to experience exclusive dishes featuring Green Rebel plant-based meat products with beef and chicken flavors. Green Rebel and P'ti collaborated to create an exclusive menu with plant-based meat ingredients from Green Rebel, offering a distinctive blend of Vietnamese and Western flavors.

Each dish is prepared using one of Green Rebel's five products available in the Vietnamese market: Vegetarian Katsu Chicken, Vegetarian Crispy Fried Chicken, Vegetarian Chicken, Vegetarian Beef Steak, and Vegetarian Stir-fried Beef.

The menu includes Rebel Lúc Lắc and pasta dishes using vegetarian chicken katsu, along with vegetarian chicken katsu with avocado salad and Chick'n Nuggets using vegetarian fried chicken.

Greener - Healthier - Tastier

Green Rebel's plant-based meat provides healthy nutrition and is environmentally friendly, boasting characteristics such as high protein and fiber content, no cholesterol, and lower saturated fat and calories compared to animal-based meat. The products contain no genetically modified ingredients, MSG, or preservatives. Importantly, Green Rebel products are designed for busy individuals, with each product requiring less than 10 minutes to cook.

According to the Life-cycle Assessment (LCA) conducted by the International Institute for Life Sciences (I3L) of Indonesia, Green Rebel's beef products have the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, emitting 91% less greenhouse gases than local beef due to the use of less water and energy in the production process. Furthermore, Helga Angelina, co-founder of Green Rebel, shared: “One of the company’s goals is to provide plant-based meat products at reasonable prices compared to animal-based meat in the markets where we operate, starting with beef.”
