The main goal of the #HelloVietnam program in 2019-2020 is to create 30,000 short video content pieces promoting the beauty, culture, and people of Vietnam, serving over 100 million online content views on the TikTok platform alone. Every two months, the participating parties will implement one promotional program for one province/city or region to promote local tourist destinations and products. The first program, #HelloDanang, will be launched on June 15, 2019, with the goal of creating a "24-hour Danang travel experience". With 12 million monthly users in Vietnam alone and over one billion app downloads worldwide, TikTok aims to leverage technology and tourism content to celebrate the beauty of Vietnam and generate interest from domestic and international tourists in Vietnam's scenic spots and landmarks. #HelloVietnam is also part of a global tourism promotion campaign initiated by TikTok, launched on June 7th under the name #TikTokTravel, aiming to celebrate the world's landmarks and scenic spots, offer a new perspective on travel, and bring cultures closer together.

To achieve the above objectives, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism is the directing agency, and the Tourism Magazine is the focal point connecting with member agencies of the National Administration of Tourism and other relevant units to effectively implement the coordinated program; operating the “Vietnam Tourism” account on the TikTok application to promote and communicate about Vietnamese tourism. The “Vietnam Tourism” account on the TikTok platform will introduce unique tourism products of Vietnam and serve as a new communication channel for the tourism industry in its efforts to implement digital transformation in accordance with the Government's policy. It is hoped that this public-private partnership model will be a new and groundbreaking initiative, mobilizing resources from the business community into the overall marketing and promotion activities of the tourism industry. To ensure the #HelloVietnam program has practical value, contributing to boosting domestic tourism and attracting international tourists to Vietnam; and to further develop Vietnamese tourism in the future; The organizing unit hopes to receive support and cooperation from relevant parties, including the Tourism Association, provincial and city tourism management departments, tourism promotion centers, businesses, and especially the media, to promote the program.
