Choosing Phu Bai International Airport as its base will help Vietravel Airlines direct tourists to the Dong Hoi-Hue-Da Nang-Hoi An area through Phu Bai International Airport, while also reducing the load on the current Da Nang International Airport.
Vietravel Airlines was established in 2018 and has taken initial steps to fly its first flight scheduled for January 1, 2020. According to the process, upon receiving the application, the Ministry of Planning and Investment will work with other ministries and branches to appraise it. If approved, it will be submitted to the Prime Minister for investment permission. After that, the enterprise will send the application to the Ministry of Transport to obtain a flight license.
Vietravel Airlines has chosen to base itself at Phu Bai International Airport, Thua Thien - Hue.
In addition to choosing Phu Bai airport as its base, Vietravel Airlines also cooperates with foreign partners to open a training school for flight attendants and ground service staff... Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietravel Airlines LLC, who is also the General Director of Vietravel Tourism Company, shared: “Vietravel Airlines has a market advantage when exploiting charter flight services. In 2018, Vietravel Tourism alone chartered more than 300 flights, each with 180-200 seats, to take tourists to travel domestically and internationally. Vietravel Airlines' plan is to exploit charter flight services from the main gateway, Phu Bai International Airport (Thua Thien - Hue), to domestic and international tourist destinations in the first 3 years. Vietravel Airlines will lease Airbus 321 aircraft (including flight crew and flight attendants) to carry out the service.”

According to Mr. Vu Duc Bien, Director of Vietravel Airlines, Hue is Vietravel's tourist transit point between the Dong Hoi - Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An areas. In 2017, this area welcomed 17.9 million tourists and accounted for 37% of Vietravel's domestic tourist destinations. According to the plan, by 2020, Vietravel Airlines will receive 20 aircraft and transport 5 million passengers/year.
Currently, Vietnam has 5 airlines: Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, Vasco and Bamboo Airways.
