Da Nang promotes tourism in Hong Kong.

On June 12, 2019, a Da Nang Tourism Promotion Program in Hong Kong was held at The Cityview Hotel in Kowloon, Hong Kong, organized by the Da Nang Department of Tourism in coordination with tourism businesses in the area.

To promote Da Nang's tourism products and services to key international markets, facilitate the Hong Kong-Da Nang flight route, and create opportunities for connecting tourism businesses in Da Nang and Hong Kong, the Da Nang Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Travel Association and tourism businesses in Da Nang and Quang Nam, organized a Da Nang tourism presentation in Hong Kong featuring: Furama Danang resort, Cicilia Danang, Centara Sandy beach, Danang Golden Bay, Hoiana golf, Mercure Bana hills French Village, Grand Tourane Danang, H&K hospitality, Premier Village Danang resort, Fayfay.com, Vietnam Airlines, and Jetstar Pacific.

The program was attended by representatives from the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Hong Kong and Macau, China, over 60 Hong Kong travel companies, and media outlets. Representing the Da Nang Department of Tourism was Ms. Huynh Thi Huong Lan, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center.

Here, Da Nang showcased its tourism development potential and strengths through its unique and diverse natural landscapes, infrastructure, modern accommodation systems, top-class luxury resorts such as Premier Village Danang Resort, Naman Retreat, InterContinental Danang Peninsula Resort, international-level cultural and tourism events, and rich culinary scene.

Also as part of this road show in Hong Kong, the Da Nang Department of Tourism participated in introducing tourism products at the ITE & MICE Hong Kong Tourism Fair – the largest B2B tourism trade event in Hong Kong, held annually since 1986. The fair featured over 600 booths from 52 countries worldwide and in the region (56% from Asian markets, 27% from European markets, and 11% from Oceania and the Americas), attracting nearly 13,000 buyers and visitors.

Accordingly, Hong Kong is currently one of Da Nang's key tourist markets. As of the end of 2018, there were 23 direct flights to Da Nang, including 15 regular direct flights and 8 charter flights, with a frequency of 328 flights per week. Of these, the regular Da Nang – Hong Kong route has a frequency of 4 flights per week operated by Jetstar, 12 flights per week by HK Express, and 7 flights per week by Cathay Dragon. According to statistics, the number of Hong Kong tourists visiting Da Nang in the first 5 months of 2019 reached 22,571, achieving 101.9% compared to the same period in 2018.

The Da Nang tourism promotion program in Hong Kong is an opportunity for Da Nang to showcase its image as a "cultural, civilized, dynamic, and friendly" destination to international tourists.
