International Food Festival 2019 in Da Nang

Da Nang, an ideal destination for tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Da Nang International Food Festival 2019 (DNIFF 2019), shared: “With the principle that tourism is a bridge to introduce the image of Da Nang city to the world through the unique characteristics of regional cuisine, the Da Nang International Food Festival 2019 (DNIFF 2019) will be a new highlight, effectively exploiting the attractiveness of Da Nang to domestic and international tourists, adding to the list of must-see tourism products when visiting Da Nang.”

The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM on June 2nd, 2019, and the closing ceremony from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM on June 6th, 2019. The location is the East bank of the Dragon Bridge, Tran Hung Dao Street, Son Tra District, Da Nang City.

Not long ago, Da Nang was ranked 15th in the list of 52 must-visit destinations in 2019 by the New York Times (USA), thanks to its unique resort and culinary features. The Da Nang International Food Festival 2019 will be an opportunity for domestic and international tourists to experience exciting culinary activities presented by renowned chefs from 13 countries: Germany, Mexico, Australia, India, China, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Sweden, the USA, Turkey, Greece, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Mr. Keerthi Hapugasdeniya, the founder and the driving force behind bringing the international food festival to Central Vietnam, shared: “Da Nang was the first city I visited in Vietnam, and the city's strong tourism development over the past ten years has made me very interested in Central Vietnam. Da Nang is once again featured on the world culinary map through this international food week, and I hope that all Da Nang residents and tourists can participate in the event and enjoy many exciting culinary experiences from around the world.”

The most special and outstanding feature of the Da Nang International Food Festival 2019 is that each night, the President of the World Chefs Association will select one outstanding chef representing their country to perform and cook a signature dish in the "Big Dish" area. In addition, there will be many street art programs, a food carnival parade, culinary exchange and experience sharing with tourism students, gift giving to children at the Center for the Protection of Victims of Agent Orange, a beautiful tourism photo exhibition, and several check-in points…

Unique culinary experiences for tourists.

The first-ever International Food Festival in Da Nang is a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in a culinary atmosphere, featuring demonstrations by the president of the world's culinary arts, Mr. Thomas Gugler, along with 13 other world-renowned chefs and head chefs from 4-5 star restaurants and hotels in Da Nang such as Xeo Restaurant, Premier Village Da Nang Resort, Golden Bay Hotel Da Nang, DLG Hotel, New Orient Hotel, Grand Mercure Hotel, TMS Hotel, Nhu Minh Plaza Hotel, and Tran Culinary Company Limited. At the festival, visitors will experience firsthand how chefs create culinary masterpieces and traditional dishes from various countries using ingredients and spices from Central Vietnam.

Besides international food stalls, visitors to the festival can also experience the culinary delights of Central Vietnam at the Vietnamese specialty food stalls, featuring renowned restaurants in Da Nang and the Vietnam Chefs Association.
