Da Nang, an ideal destination for tourists
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Danang International Food Festival 2019 (DNIFF 2019) shared: “With the motto of tourism as a bridge to introduce the image of Danang city to the world through the unique features of regional cuisine, the Danang International Food Festival 2019 (DNIFF 2019) will be a new highlight, effectively exploiting the attraction of Danang to domestic and foreign tourists, adding to the list of tourism products that cannot be missed when coming to Danang”.
The opening ceremony is expected to take place from 19:30 - 20:30 on June 2, 2019 and the closing ceremony will take place from 19:30 - 20:30 on June 6, 2019. The location is the East bank of Dragon Bridge, Tran Hung Dao Street, Son Tra District, Da Nang City.
Not long ago, Da Nang was ranked 15th in the list of 52 must-see tourist destinations in 2019 voted by the New York Times (USA), thanks to its unique features of relaxation and cuisine. The 2019 Da Nang International Food Festival will be an opportunity for domestic and international tourists to experience interesting culinary activities performed by famous chefs from 13 countries: Germany, Mexico, Australia, India, China, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Sweden, USA, Turkey, Greece, Malaysia and Singapore.
Mr. Thomas Andeas Gugler, President of the World Chef Association, said: “I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the opening ceremony of the Danang International Food Festival 2019 in Vietnam. Mr. Keerthi Hapugasdeniya, founder and the one who brought the spirit of the international food festival to Central Vietnam, shared: “Da Nang is the first city I set foot in when I came to Vietnam and the strong development of the city's tourism industry in the past ten years has made me very excited about the Central Vietnam strip. Da Nang City is once again on the world culinary map through the international food week and I hope all Da Nang residents and tourists can participate in the event and enjoy many interesting things from cuisines around the world.”
The most special and outstanding feature of the Danang International Food Festival 2019 is that each night the President of the World Chefs Association will select a representative chef of that country to perform and cook a typical dish in the "Big Dish" area (Giant Pot). In addition, there are many street art programs, culinary carnival parades, exchanges - sharing culinary experiences with tourism students, giving gifts to children at the Agent Orange Victims Support Center, a beautiful tourism photo exhibition area and some check-in points...
Unique culinary experiences for visitors
The first International Food Festival in Da Nang is a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the culinary atmosphere performed by the president of the world chef, Mr. Thomas Gugler, and 13 world chefs in collaboration with chefs of 4-5 star restaurants and hotels in Da Nang such as Xeo Restaurant, Premier Village Da Nang resort, Golden Bay Da Nang Hotel, DLG Hotel, New Orient Hotel, Grand Mercure Hotel, TMS Hotel, Nhu Minh Plaza Hotel, Tran Culinary Company Limited. At the Festival, visitors will directly experience how chefs create culinary quintessence, traditional dishes of countries based on ingredients and spices of the Central region.
In addition to international food stalls, at the Festival, visitors can also experience the culinary quintessence of the Central region at the typical Vietnamese food stalls organized by famous restaurants in Da Nang and the Vietnam Chefs Association.
