Vaccine passport - How to get one?

13/04/2022

According to the Ministry of Health, from April 15, every citizen who has fully completed the vaccination process at vaccination facilities will be issued a Vaccine Passport. Specifically, what do people need to do to get this special "passport"?

According to information from the Ministry of Health, those who have been vaccinated and have their data updated by the vaccination facility on the system will be issued a Vaccine Passport without any additional procedures.

Specifically, the process of issuing a Vaccine Passport includes 3 steps, carried out by the vaccination facility, the vaccination management system and the Ministry of Health.

  • Step 1: Vaccination facilities review, supplement, and verify vaccination information with the national population database according to the guidance documents of the Ministry of Health.
  • Step 2: Vaccination facilities digitally sign vaccination data on the Covid-19 Vaccination Management Platform. The data will be pushed to the Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate Management System.
  • Step 3: The Ministry of Health will centrally sign the Covid-19 vaccination certificate. The citizen's vaccine passport will then be completed and displayed on the Electronic Health Book application, PC-COVID or looked up on the Information Portal announced by the Ministry of Health in the near future.

Thus, each citizen only needs to have the PC-COVID application or the Electronic Health Book to be able to display their Vaccine Passport. If you do not use the above two applications, you can search on the Ministry of Health's website by entering information such as: full name, date of birth, gender, citizen identification, last vaccination date..., then declare your personal email to receive the Passport.

In cases where a Vaccine Passport has not been issued due to missing or incorrect information, it is necessary to report it onCOVID-19 Vaccination Portal, or you can contact the vaccination facility directly to edit the information.

The Vaccine Passport will contain information including: full name, date of birth, disease, number of injections, date of injection, number of doses, vaccine product..., the information is packaged in the form of a 2D QR code. The QR code will expire after 12 months from the date of creation. When the code expires, people will be notified and the system will automatically generate a new QR code for use.

Vietnam's electronic vaccine passport uses standards issued by the WHO and EU, is currently used in 62 countries and will be used by more countries in the near future.
