At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the afternoon of August 19, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said: “On August 4, the Ministry of Health issued guidelines on medical quarantine for people entering Vietnam. In particular, it is mandatory to quarantine for 7 days and monitor for the next 7 days for people entering the country who have negative test results, have been fully vaccinated, or have recovered from Covid-19.”

To facilitate the implementation of the Ministry of Health's guidance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has coordinated with the Ministry of Health to issue temporary guidance, recognizing the form of vaccination certificate and Covid-19 recovery certificate that has been officially introduced through diplomatic channels of 44 countries and territories. However, tourists are not yet included in the group of subjects allowed to enter Vietnam at this time.

The list of countries and territories that have officially introduced the Covid-19 vaccination certificate and recovery certificate form is regularly updated on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' electronic information portal on consular work.lanhsuvietnam.gov.vn.
“People coming from countries and territories that have not officially introduced the Covid-19 vaccination certificate and recovery certificate to Vietnam can contact Vietnamese representative agencies in their host countries to legalize or confirm the content of the above documents,” Ms. Hang added.
