At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' regular press briefing on the afternoon of August 19, Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated: “On August 4, the Ministry of Health issued guidelines on medical quarantine for people entering Vietnam. These guidelines mandate a 7-day centralized medical quarantine and a further 7-day monitoring period for those entering the country who have tested negative, received all doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, or have recovered from the disease.”

To facilitate the implementation of the Ministry of Health's guidelines, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, issued temporary guidelines recognizing the vaccination certificate and COVID-19 recovery certificate forms that have been officially introduced through diplomatic channels by 44 countries and territories. However, tourists are not yet among the groups permitted to enter Vietnam at this time.

The list of countries and territories that have officially introduced the vaccination certificate and COVID-19 recovery certificate templates is regularly updated on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' electronic portal for consular affairs.lanhsuvietnam.gov.vn.
"Those coming from countries and territories that have not officially introduced the vaccination certificate or COVID-19 recovery certificate forms to Vietnam can contact Vietnamese representative agencies in their respective locations to legalize or verify the contents of these documents," Ms. Hang added.
